Here is a quick shot taken this weekend of one of our lists springing into action.
I think you can figure out what we are honing our tactics for. So how did the 2000 pt list work out? 2 Victorious Slaughters and 1 Solid Victory propelled one of the Fly Lords into the winners circle at a local Austin tournament.
We are coming...

Having been one of your opponents during your spring training exercise and being a fellow Dark Angel Player I have some feedback. The Ravenwing/ Deathwing combo is a great combo however having faced it once and seeing the over abundance of it's use it has a primary weekness. This combo relies entirely on you getting first turn, which you got against me. If you fail to acheive first round initiative then you opponent will attempt to powder your bikes, which almost any force will have enough fire power to do. If you take only one bike squad as a single fast attack choice your opponent will dust that unit on turn one, even if you combat squad it. This will leave your terminators deep striking without the teleport homers.
Also IG armies that are infantry heavy can put a damper on the combat squads because they buy 4 plus squads as one choice and will have enough fire power to bring your squads below 25%. Tau also have a lot of fire power in non scoring units that can put the hurt on your squads. Just some thoughts to improve yoiur chances.
Thanks for the comment! A Ravenwing Attack Squadron actually has 3 distinct units with Teleport Homers.
In the six games I've played with the list, I've only had the first turn once. In 4 of the 5 games where I had the second turn, I won with Victorious Slaughters (the 5th win was a Crushing Victory). The narrowest game I had was against your Dark Angels.
Shooting armies are definitely a concern, but I don't play with the assumption that I'm going to have the first turn. I position my Bikes in different locations, utilizing terrain features to minimize my opponent's ability to target them with multiple units. This provides me with the widest range of options when Deep Striking my Terminators.
I've found that most armies have a hard time killing 3 units of T5 3+Sv models in one turn of shooting. It's possible (and it almost happened against a Necron player with 15 Destroyers and 9 Heavy Destroyers), but it's not as easy as it sounds.
I haven't faced a Tau or IG list with the army yet; I suspect it would force a change in the tactics. I plan on trying to face IG and Eldar this week (if I can cram in two games). But the army handles changes pretty well. For example, one of my games was against World Eaters. I certainly couldn't take the fight to him, but the army handled the shift very easily.
Thanks again for the comment and I look forward to playing you again soon!
