The Heresy League continues, and the treachery of the Warmaster has cost the Loyalists dearly!

We had about 20 folks show up at Battleforge Games, and the Warhammer 30,000 League is at its half-way point. This 5th week featured larger 2000pt Legion forces against a variety of alien threats, and several hallmark games: On Istvaan V, the Warmaster had unleashed his master-trap and all but destroyed 3 Loyalist legions, and on Mars, the Imperial Fists have been caught up in an uprising of twisted Dark Mechanicus. Lets do a quick recap so everyone can see how the Legions held up.

Istvaan V (Initial Landings)
Death Guard, World Eaters, vs Iron Hands
The Initial landings on Istvaan V went well for the Imperium, and the Iron Hands, Salamanders, and Raven Guard made good speed towards the Traitor lines. Once encircled, the Salamanders and Raven Guard pulled back to link up with their reinforcements while the hot-tempered Iron Hands cut a path towards the position of Fulgrim, the Emperor’s Children Primarch. Upon reaching the defensive lines of the Death Guard, their advance ground to a halt. While Death guard losses were high, the Iron Hands have been stopped, and pushed back by the World Eaters, led by Captain Ehren Gak. Once robbed of their forward momentum, and stripped of their Loyalist allies, the Iron Hands forces were doomed.
Status: Iron Hands forces destroyed

Mars
Imperial Fists vs Dark Mechanicus (necrons)
Reports are sketchy at best, but it is reported that the Imperial Fists are caught up in a bloody uprising of Dark Mechancus on the home of the Mechanicum. The Fists have secured large stocks of the most advanced Astartes armour and munitions for the defense of Terra. While being ferried off-world to safety, almost the entire Imperial Fist contingent has been destroyed, and the few tattered survivors have escaped the Martian Control Zone. Terra can ill afford these lossas and one can only wonder how much the efforts of the Warmaster will be bosltered with the Mechanicum on his side.
World Status: Dark Mechanicus control

Istvaan V (Dropsite Massacres)
Night Lord, Word Bearers vs Salamanders, Raven Guard
The Warmaster’s Grand Trap has been sprung. After the Loyalist Legions of the first wave, fell back to their landing site, the 4 Legions of the reinforcing 2nd wave turned on their brothers and cut them down ruthlessly. In this sector of the battle the Loyalist losses were astronomical. A tiny contingent of Raven guard, bearing the geneseed of their Salamander and Iron Hand brothers has escaped with their severely wounded Primarch Corax. This force punched its way through the Word Bearer lines, just as the Night Lords consumed the Salamander rear guard who bought time with their lives. There is no word on the fates of either Vulkan or Ferrus Mannus, but Terra fears the worst.
World Status: Loyalist breakout successful

Caliban
Dark Angels vs the Druge (CSMs)

The Dark Angels have resolved their mysterous combat duties upon their homeworld and begun to move to reinforce Terra. They have been set upon by the techno-heretics of the Druge Union, deep in the galactic north. In a quick series of high speed raids, the Druge fleet has been disabled, and the Sons of the Lion, have left them drifting in deep space, rather than taking the time to destroy them in detail.
World Status: Imperial Control

Nikaea V
White Scars vs Thousand Sons
The Red Sorcerors have fled their homeworld, and begun raiding nearby worlds of rare artifacts or power, and forbidden libraries of knowledge. On Nikaea V, a force of White Scars under command of Captain Benjamin, have inflicted a stinging defeat. Catching the sons of Magnus unawares, the White Scars destroyed their fleet and encircled the Sect in preparation for a strike at their headquarters. The Sect only survived due to eldritch witchcraft, which whisked them away to safely at the last second.
World Status: Imperial Control

Loya II
Ultramarines vs Gibbering Hordes (tyranids)

the Ultramarines have retaken Ultramar, and set the word Bearers fleeing into open space. Captain Tyranus has lead a final campaign to rid Calth and the surrounding planets of the final taint of the twisted creatures, and heretics herded into battle by their Traitor masters. None survive. As we speak, the Ultramarines are mustering a gigantic fleet to begin the long journey to Emperor’s side.
World Status: Imperial Control
