Hi all,
Here's the latest we've heard regarding this July's release of the 2nd Apocalypse book: Apocalypse-Reload.
- 88-pages
- Contains 50 new Apocalypse Datasheets (unknown if this includes the current ones online)
- New army-specific Strategic Assets
- A monumental battle report "that has to seen to be believed"
As part of this rollout, several of the larger Apocalypse boxed sets (like the Battle Company, Tank Company, etc...) are supposedly being re-released, as well a a load of new boxed sets for the included Datasheets.
~Hmm, there are about 30 datasheets on the GW website now, so my question is are they included in the 50? In any case, more Apocalypse boxed sets is always good news, some of those sets were real discounts. Standard Caveat Emptors apply...

I'd be fairly certain GW will use already made and posted data sheets to make it look as if they were going to include "50 more sheets..." in the new book....
But it'll still be cool. I hope there's more vehicles available to the smaller armies like Necrons, Tau, Dark Eldar. They didn't get any cool superheavies (except manta, which is a giant gay orgy on a flying wing.)
Sounds cool to me- we've had a blast with Apocalypse here in Malaysia, so I'm all for another book! :)
I wonder if they will sell a Codex Chapter box...haha
900 troops in power armour
100 terminators
10 Captains
25 Different Chaplains (5 in Terminator Armour)
25 Techmarines (5 in Servo Harness)
30 Libbies (5 in Terminator Armour)
1 Plastic Chapter Master (Like the Captain but more weapons and options)
A couple dozen Rhinos, Razorbacks, Whirlwinds and a few Land Raiders of both types...
gawd that box would be expensive...
I just want to see the battle report...
Why would I pay $90 to read about a game played by someone else? That's like paying money to hear some guy at a convention tell you about his "super cool Paladin!"
Unless this book contains some seriously useful new rules I'm going to give it a miss.
@Democratus
Or like watching a football game, or reading a history book, or etc etc etc
haha
Well seeing as I wont have to fork out for this and the guys at the local shop will... its all good news =D
they had the deathwing company up for sell awhile ago, that one ran at $1100 dollars.
but in all seriousness, at my last apoc game i ran 12k worth of tanks and asst infantry, which included 2 baneblade, a tank company, artillery company, warhound, and something like 40 termintators. we had 40 minutes turns. i thought i could run just tanks in that time, but by the 2nd turn i had let my other teammate using the artillery company and baneblades, and he brought 3k of his own stuff.
if you plan on bringing an entire chapter, bring like 15 of your friends to help move :)
Im most curious about the army specific strategic assests - but I also havent had a chance to play or even see an apocolypse game
How about playing 20k points of nids each couple of weeks - and i'm not talking big bugs here...
I'm really surprised at being the first to say this:
I want something for the Inquisition!!!!
I'll buy it anyways, Apocalypse has been the only "real" way for us to play these last few month (aaaahhh the resin addiction!)

Where did you pull that price from?
GAW 40-07 40K Apocalypse Vol II $25.00
Sounds cool to me. I still need to put my Apoc crap to use. I pre-ordered the Gamers Edition and a bunch of sets but none of it has been battle tested.
Soon though. Soon!
GW with their limited info makes it very hard for me plan my purchases. I know I need more transports for my battle company plus some more tanks. Do they have an predator assasin squadron box coming? I could use that.
Hey! Maybe they'll include some Sisters of Battle data sheets.
hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahaha
Sometimes I make myself laugh.
This will be a "must-buy" for me.
I love the big battle reports, they are so inspirational; the ice table in the first Apoc book made me convert my 4x6 into an ice table, and I am working on ice terrain features for it.
IA: Apoc from FW was an awesome buy as well, so I can't wait for the new book.
GW's new direction of moving back to fun gaming, and the lack of stuff "tourney legal this, tourney legal that" is fantastic. This is what gaming is all about!
I hope they have a formation where four defilers and a brass scorpion form up to make Voltron.
"And I'll form THE HEAD!"
I seriously hope the existing 30ish web-sheets aren't in it, that's be a nasty let-down. Especially since some of the recent chaos ones were rather disappointing (come on, GW, I need more than a Chaos Icon and "classified" to go on for a pic). I imagine there will be some Inquisition-related sheets, to go along with the new Daemons list.
I'm praying for some Inquisition goodness.
I doubt it will be the 30 already published, as only a few armies were represented there. If they do release any of the published ones it will be hopefully with a picture instead of the "Classified" ones.
Wishful thinking?
I really want this Space Marine Company back.
All sounds too good to be true. Really, an update for a fun expansion - Apocalypse, and new data sheets? Yeah, too good to be true... sigh.
Wanna bet the Imperator Emperor-class Titan doesn't make it in this one either?
Actually, here's hoping the 50ish data sheets aren't just a broad market rehash of Imperial Armor: Apocalypse.
Don't get me wrong, its a good book and all. I just don't need to buy it twice.
Hi guys
From my understanding (and no, I haven't seen the book), the datasheets consist of "the pick of the litter" from our web site and a few new datasheets for each army, totalling 50 sheets in all. I haven't heard anything at all about there being IA: Apoc sheets included, so i wouldn't be worried about that at all. I also have not heard about any crazy scratchbuilds for any of the armies, but hey, it could happen.
All in all it looks like a good bit of fun for those that have been having a great time with Apocalypse.
I hope this helps.
Cheers
Dave Taylor
Thanks so much for the clarification Dave!
It's definately on the must-buy list for me... The Fly Lords are (obviously) Apocalypse nuts.

BACK IN TH MID 90" gw was selling a whole Chapter for $5,000.00 with one thunderhawk gunship
Well, Dave settles it: I'm buying the new apocalypse book! I know I am not the only person who clicks on that damned website twice a week hoping against hope for new sheets.
We in the L.A./O.C. beaches area are definitely apocalypse nuts. Strict tourney play is. . . "le boreeng"

Am I the only one who is irritated that they have to buy a revised edition of the book already? :P
I've only had my book like 4 months so far.
I am interested in the battle report, I was shattered that those huge battles in the original wern't really reported on.
I think I was confused as to what it was... it's just an add-on, not a rerelease of the whole book.
This book is an Apocalypse supplement, not a rewrite. Your Apocalypse rulebook is just fine as is, and you could quite happily continue to play Apoc games without it. Reload is just a cool addition, particularly for those that have "exhausted their options" (played more than a game a week for the last seven months).
Sorry for any conusion.
Cheers
Dave
@ RT Maitreya
You are not alone in the world when it comes to checking the GW website. I check it in the morning everyday before I go to work... couple of screws loose... I know.
later,
Tim
They ignored my Sisters...not buying, sorry I bought the first one.
As an adult Warhammer player...I could buy the minis but never have the time to play (I'd rather be at a tourney for that time expenditure).
The kids and students, vice versa.
We have DE with no codex in a decade and they are tooling about with Apoc?
An Imperial Guard Infantry Company would be cool....
Cheers
Mark
considering the imperial armour apocalypse book made datasheets for everything else available from forge world, this book will be nothing special...
If its just a repack of the current online data sheets with a couple extras, I'll probably pass as I've already got all of those saved to my HDD, and if IA: Apocalypse was anything to go by, there will be nothing of great interest or power for Imperial Guard (25pts to have RR's come in as a squad, but multiple fire prisms can link fire to shoot out D strength 10" pieplates at no cost with no drawbacks? Come on please)
If it is 50 all new datasheets, or if the content is actually interesting, I'll pick it up for sure.
Like the first apocalypse book, the actual contents may not be much in themselves. But the ideas and the possibilities it generates for taking all the fun and craziness of epic mixing with 40k.
The box sets also finally give what 40k players have wanted for years "bulk discount". Sure the army/battle forces are nice but they often come with dead weight.
But the nice thing about apocalypse is that there is no dead weight because everything is used. Apocalypse is probably the best thing that happened to 40k for experienced players. God it’s great to have a second coming.
The support for apocalypse was minimal even with mammoth sales. I was wondering if someone in sales would put 2 and 2 together. Sales are dropping due to saturation, answer increase current customer consumption. Coca cola has much to teach the world.
But at least now we run the risk of getting value for money. I should have my battle company finished just in time to buy a new one. Going waste a load of time tryin to convince noobs to wait and save themselves a s**t load of money, but they never listen.
The manager at my local Battle Bunker told me a few weeks ago that there would a re-issue of many of the Apocalypse deals from last year to coincide with the release of 5th Edition 40K and of course, Apocalypse Reload. If you missed out on any of the great bulk discounts from last year you'll have a second chance to catch some of them this summer.
Apocalypse Reload is already available for pre-order from GW stores. If you don't have a GW store near you or a good independent store, you may want to call Direct Services and see if they have started taking orders for it yet. I already pre-ordered mine last weekend and I'm really looking forward to getting it. After Cities of Death, which I think is terrific fun, I believe Apocalypse is the best thing to happen to 40K ever. I've been playing 40K since Rogue Trader and Apocalypse really makes 40K the kind of massive fun I'd always imagined it could be.
Regarding Apocalypse bundle deals, many of last year's deals were still offered by GW Direct Services even after the fancy boxed versions in stores were sold out; Direct simply sold the equivalent product in a plain box for the same price. If you have trouble finding these deals this time around again, you may wish to inquire with GW Direct Services about them.
I'll look forward to it if they do rerelease some of those boxed deals; since they've gone out-of-stock I've been kicking myself for not having taken advantage of the decent savings in there!
I'm so dying want the SUnstorm Squadron to be released.
Some Armour box set for Tau again will be cool as well.
I'll hope that they release some Death Korps of Krig-models. I don't want pay that salty prise what FW is asking for. Do I remember wrong or did they promised valhallans and kriegs?
