Well well well, look at these babies, I guess settles the old plastic deffcoptas vs plastic kans debate...
And that is supposedly the plastic warboss from the boxed set as well.

I'm still not a fan of Ork vehicles, but I'll most definitely be buying the box set to add to my Space Marine army and build a foundation for an Ork horde army.
graet stuff!loveing them, much better than the old "how does that thing fly" death copter from gorkamorka, and the warboss looks good too. me and my mate are doing a swap when we both get our boxes..ill have doube the orks..he will have double the marines! only time will tell if the marines will come cast with ultramarines symbols on them... :/
Nice minis, like the rokkits instead of shootas, now they'll actually be of some use. Those are kanz in the foreground, the see to be posable, metal ones, either way, Ride of the valkyr baby!
No Killa Kanz, that is an 'Upgraded Army' shot and those are the current Kanz.
The Warboss looks kinda weedy, but I think I like the new PK. Prolly need to add to it a bit, but the design is different. Lil plasticard here and some armor plates there should make him proppa ;)
I am so excited about my pre-order of the Box set. Getting the metal deffkoptas here in Taiwan is not easy. The local store doesn't stock them because of the price and shipping. While I do like the feel of metal models the price of the plastic is better. I am surprised no one has mentioned the drastic difference between the meta; models and these new plastic ones. These are sleeker and more modern. I like the look but is it really orky? Games Workshop is obviously recreating the orks' image, making them sleeker more ornate killing machines. Compare the old trukk to the new one, while it is not sleek it is more ornate. Definitely a good move in that case! Are the plastic models going to be available to purchase separately? If so hopefully not in squads of three!
Me thinks my waaagh will be adding a squadron of Defcoptas right after this box hits the market.
I think the boss is a bit too weedy without some modification though. Still it ain't bad.
I'm hoping the marines are generic enough to utilize in my current chapter and the Dread isn't signifigantly different from the current models. If all that works out fine, I'll be buying a box set. If they're lame I'll just buy up some Defcoptas from Ebay once the usual gang of resellers start parting out the boxed sets.
I'll get the box set of these babies as soon as they hit the market in my Nowhereville... And I'll kustomize them!!! Although they are cool they are kinda sleeky for true orky airkraft....
And these people call me insane when I say that I want to build Air Forze of da Black Gruntz tribe!!!
P.S.: Warboss is just a distress... It is not big, angry, green rapid gorilla!!! Although I'll use it... For bitz...
Jawaballs: "Def" as in the Orkish version of "death". But if you want to model your orks with sideways ball caps and gold chains... Who am I to tell you no? :-P
Yes, Orks are known for their pseudo-cockney accents and humorously poor verbal skills. "Deff" for death, "fasta" for faster, "shoota" for shooter or gun, etc. The list is long and this stylization goes back to the earliest Ork background material.
this models are great. Finaly they look like could be able to fly. I've alredy manage to adapt Ork Bikes for my Chaos bikers but I don't have a clue how to use ork skimmers
Oh pete.... Bothans? Amazing, sir, you've made my day.
Models look cool... I think a kroot conversion is necessary. I'm interested to see what Bulwark will make out of the undoubted set of 12 he will accumulate...
Bulwark, if you're gonna make a zeppelin, just go on ebay and buy a Turtle Blimp. Its got all kinds of orcish amenities and little bombs on the side that say "stink-o bombs" or something that fall when you pull the little trigger.
On a positive note, it does look like these things might actually be capable of flight. Maybe they can finally drop that 'psychic force of the collective ork consciousness keeps it aloft / believe in your dreams and they will come true' nonsense.
Oh, and they play Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels all the time on ork latenight cable. And the yoofs think that movie is dead 'ard. Thats why they talk like that.
Here's another piece of news about the new starter set: there will be a FULL RULEBOOK in the new Battle For Black Reach starter set. The first 95 pages of the 5th edition 40K hardback rule book will comprise the starter edition mini-rule book.

Impressive intelligence, how many bothans died to bring you this information? :P
Any word yet on how much the "starter set" will cost in US dollars? There are some ugly rumors floating around that it will cost a lot more than $60.
Said all along that is was koptas.
The doubtas is done.
WAAAGH!
they look absolutely amazing!
cant wait to battle my mates coptas!
Are those killa kans at the bottom of the pic?

Awesome! My Ork player friend I'm swapping with is pleased. Now, what's the Termies and Dread look like?

I can't wait to start a fleet of Dethkoptaz.....
Oh. MY. GOD. This is so awesome.
I am blown away. I keep getting older but I still feel that giddy little kid feeling when I see sneak peaks like this.
Can't wait

So Is that "Def" as in DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince Def ala 1987? (meaning cool)
Do you think what I think?
Ride Valkyrie, Ride!!!

Answer: Many.
The box set will rock!

omfg a useful warboss model!
Any idea if/when these things are coming out in a seperate Deffcopta box?
Oh pete.... Bothans? Amazing, sir, you've made my day.

right now, the good money is on an orky flying helicarrier (for apoc of course).
omg bulwark
flying heli carrier?
can't wait to see that thing!
I vote for a helicarrier like in SkyCaptain and the World of Tomorrow!
Zog that, I vote for a proppa Zeppelin!
Utterly sweet. I was hoping that the koptas would look the art in the codex. I can't wait to see more pictures of the starter box contents. :)
Ooo, bulwark. I'm excited.
Needs a Zeppelin. Good and proppa.
Wow.... Gah, I was contemplaying selling off my Marines *I've played four or five games since 4E came out*
But.... That piece'a me that always wanted to be one'a the boyz loves this.... *sigh*
Man, why do you do this to me, GW?

The new dreadnought and termies are visible on the inside back cover of UK white dwarf edition number 342 in a battle scene pic.
