Hi guys,
Mkerr and I are back from Seattle and settling back into things. We had a great time at the Bellevue Bunker and wanted to say thanks to all the staff who were just great. Chaosgerbil showed up and got to look through the Macharian Crusade book and wowed us with his 4 BOXES OF CHAOS SPAWN!!! I'm not sure what he has in mind, but if you guys ever need a rampaging horde of dozens of spawn to smote your enemies...he's your man!
Anyway, onto the daily into.

Following up on the Laser Pointer, its definitely a laser, not a LED. The laser works in such a way that when it appears there's a cross-hair; and while odd looking it also has a purpose. The idea is that if any part of the cross hair is obscured on the target model then you get a cover save. The Laser image can be seen at distances of 10-15 meters in low light and is easily visible on a tabletop.
We have also heard of the recall of the new GW "flamer airbrush". Apparently there is some issue with a plastic hose that can crack under extended use, and they have been pulled. We have no info on future reintroduction plans.
Latest Future Releases Rumors
We are now hearing that the Space Wolves are not scheduled for the DEC/JAN slot, but have no additional info. This could just be a slight re-jiggering of the release schedule, as many sources say they are well underway.
2nd Wave of Orks are in JAN (Zagstruk and Co.)
2nd Wave of Daemons are in March (rumored to be plastic Plaguebearers)
Imperial Guard is tentatively scheduled for May next year
~Standard Caveats on the release schedule rumors (as always). Mkerr and I had a great 5th edition game up at the bunker (my foot eldar > IG in centaurs), but now that we are really getting a feel for 5th, the floodgates will soon be opening. Mkerr is just bursting with his latest set of TACTICAS for 5th that sound both awesome and full of dirty tricks. Expect those to start rolling in here soon.

wow all htat stuff sounds reely good!!!121!!lll LOL
We've been hearing all sorts of conflicting rumours about IG for 5th, from a possible christmas release to summer '09 (and my local GW refuses to say that IG are even in need of a new book or that one is underway at all)
I was hoping to hear something closer to winter, but it looks like next may is where its going to be.

There's definitely an IG Codex underway - there was a bit about it en passant in the latest UK White Dwarf: from the top of my head it's being worked on by a chap called Robin something-or-other and he's apparently very excited about the amount of tanks he's ramming into it. In the photo he also looked about 12...but he had a lot of tanks in front of him, so who cares?
Here's to the noble bulletcatchers of the Imperial Guard!

I was at my local chop on Saturday and the Flamer Airbrush is being recall due to the adapter cap that screwws onto the propellant can.
The cap is plaastic and the threads can easily, and I mean really easily, be cross threaded.
The word on Saturday was that they were going to remake them with a metal portion that screwed onto the propellant can.
As of Saturday they were not allowed to sell them.
I also had them shoot some propellant at foam. I was curious to see if the propellant caused the faom to melt. It didn't, so this may be a good way to paint large terrain projects.
later, Tim
oh that sounds nice =]
i want to know what the new ork releases are
fingers crossed plastic grots
=]
There have been many excellent airbrushes on the market for well over 30 years, GW made a mistake trying to market one of their own I believe.
It would have benefitted them greatly to license one of the already functioning models (one with a compressor - I'm wary of the environmental issues related to plastic cans of propellant).
All that aside, I hope that IG dex comes sooner rather than later.
US White Dwarf 342 confirms IG are being worked upon, so it's not a secret or just a rumor any longer.
Second wave of Daemons in March. gives me time to get all the metal ones that are currently out. I'm not a fan of the new daemons (esp. the Slaneesh ones)and have been getting the metal daemonettes and seekers from E-bay for my list. Luckily I had the metal bloodletters and 'khorne dogs' already from my Chaos Marines. Any word about plastic Greater Daemon kits in the future?
They licensed the Badger 350 and had it slightly changed to have a pistol grip and the flamer head:

The ones they gave GW to demo had a better quality screwcap and hose.
Khorne dogs and daemonettes? Kinky, VERY kinky! >;)
What...no one whining about the space puppies push back? I'm stunned...flabbergasted...surprised even...
My theory is if guard are pushed up before Wolves, it allows a new Russ to be designed that can be used for both armies. Just my opinion.
All that news is great! I am looking forward to seeing who and or what comes out with 'Da Vulcha'. Plastic grots would be nice.
I don't know if this is the place but check out this Ork Stompa

Love the Stompa! Would love to battle against that. Wish I had more ork opponents for my IG army....gotta love tha classic match ups.
"I don't know if this is the place but check out this Ork Stompa"
Yeah, that's not working.
The IG book being pushed forward wouldn't hurt my feelings any! Hopefully I'll be ready to get back to paining them by the time books comes out.
Is there any rumour about the size of the laser pointer?
Toms food smells nice
I wonder if the battlewagon seen on those casting blueprints posted on here a couple of weeks back will be part of the January releases or maybe sooner!
Anyone know if there will be new buggies and wartraks released anytime soon?
I have the feeling that plastic PBs will not be in the 2nd wave of daemon release, it makes no sense for them to release a metal command, and have fresh molds (if you look at the normal PB figs that come out of boxes, they are obviously using fairly new if not brand new casts) just to release plastics a year later.
My theory on daemon wave 2 is that it will include more of the special characters that don't have models (heralds, scribes, etc) and likely some new models of things that currently may not be in production- such as seekers/furies in plastic or other such models that weren't "repacked"
It was great to meet you guys, and I hope I wasn't too much of a smartass! The Macharian crusade book looks very promising.
