SNEAK PEAK: Forgeworld and Black Library Tidbits

Dread Pic brought to the community by Warseer's: Gereth

Hi Guys,

A few little things here to keep you informed.

First up we have this great shot of a Forgeworld Death Guard Dreadnought being released for the upcoming Siege of Vraks Part 2 hardcover.

In the number two slot we have yet another shot of a collector's range Kroot mini shown at Games Day: Canada.

We also hear word from Black Library that due to continued interest in many of their background books (such as Xenology), a compilation book may be coming down the pipe (yay!!!). They are still working this one through and deciding which books would be most desired for the compilation project.

~Once again, Forgeworld comes through with a phenomenal mini. That Death Guard Dread is amazing, from the abandoned skeleton atop it to the pockmarked skulls chained to its waist. Siege of Vraks 2 seems to shaping up to be quite nicely.

Above odd post aside...

That Death Guard dreadnought is amazing! I may have to save up for it and get it to add to my army, given that I'm the only one I know that a)plays DG and b)still uses chaos dreads. It's pretty freakin sweet.

That's a good looking Kroot, as well.

Love the Dread. My Death Guard /need/ that Dread as much as I /need/ Siege of Vraks II.

FW seldom disappoints- very nice dread. Maybe he's the one illegally issuing stocks and bonds in Korea... ;)

I don't know. Illegally issuing stocks and bonds seems more Tzeentch-ish, really.

I'm excited about the possibility of BL reprints, those books are hard to find.

Not sure about the "compilation" angle though, why not just re-release the books as is?

I find it funny that both FW dreads are using non fluffy weapons. ONe with Twin Las and this one with Twin Heavy Bolter. I'm a DG player so any Nurgle based stuff is pure gravy

FW dread is nice, as usual. I like the Kroot a good deal too. And, there's nothing wrong with making fluff books more readily available, so good for Black Library!

Love the Death Guard drad, the little mosquito on the banner is a particulary nice, little touch.

The Kroot shaper is also ace, though that may just be my love of all things Kroot talking ;-)

Not too sure about compilation books, not really that interesting for people who already have to seperate books. I was personally rather hoping for another book in the lines of Xenology. Had a blast reading both the (somewhat preditcable) storyline and all the great alien fisiology and background.

I have the old FW deathguard dread and thought that was the bomb, now this one. Wow, the model alone warrants play even with the 1/6 insanity roll to screw you over.

Wow, that Nurgle dread is awesome. It's so nauseatingly detailed that one almost doesn't want to pick it up for fear of contracting some imaginary infection. :) I like the Kroot too, though, were I the sculptor I would've reversed the placement of that blade on the rifle butt, because when that Kroot in theory carries through with that overhead swing, it looks like he'll end up impaling himself in the abdomen.

Yeah, the FW Nurgle dread is great. I've been sculpting / scratch-building one but of course it isn't nearly this nice.

What would you consider fluffy? A plasma cannon?

The Kroot is a little boring to me for a character model, but I suppose it beats the existing shaper.

DG Dread is a 100000% purchase thats for sure.

Great models, as usual - Forgeworld may just get me to sell off 90% of my chaos army and go all Death Guard

@ Chaosgerbil

Yeah something like a plasma or multi-melta would be cool. I ain't arguing though.

More Nurgle Dreads = More gooder

(Yeah I play DG so I ain't complaining, just pointing out an observation

Kroot! Fuxin sweet!

Yeah but here's to hoping that the cost isn't 100000% on that purchase... ;)

I just looked into ordering something from Forgeworld and the base cost of just shipping was over 30 pound sterling. That's crazy...

About the Death Guard Dreadnought: I thought the DG were all about Bolters, too. And I also didn't think multi-meltas were very wide spread back pre-Heresy. (This is me saying I thought the twin-linked Heavy Bolters were particularly fluffy.)
