Hi guys,
Today Forgeworld put up Siege of Vraks;Part 2 up for preorder. This book continues the story of the ten year Imperial siege of the Armoury World of Vraks from the Apostate Cardinal Xaphan. While victory seemed close at hand, the Cardinal has obtained the support of the Ruinous Powers who have sent him aid. From the pics it would seem the Imperium is sending the Death Korps some heavy titan reinforcements. As with Siege of Vraks part 1, early versions of the book will ship with a double-sided Death Korps poster shown below.

Product details (lots of cool pics)
~You can bet BoLS will be picking up this one. We are titan-crazy around here, and I really want to see what rules Forgeworld settles on for the Reaver. Some of the earlier test versions of them were pretty far out!

Since I ordered IA:5 and have a DKoK army, I ordered IA:6, but I hope its not as bad as the piece of trash that was IA:Apoc
I wish i had the cash for all of this Froge world craziness :(
I took out a loan just to buy this stuff!
About time! Woohoo!
Any word on who's joining Xaphan besides maybe Death Guard and World Eaters? Looking for hope of more cult love here :P
Seems like Chaos finally gets the IA treatment, with seperate entries for all the vehicles as normal. And finally, a proper Chaos renegade/heretic army list!
I can't wait to check this out - new fluff, new art, new models - awesome!
£8,600 worth of Titans?!?
Really?!?
22 of the massive buggers?!?
I only have Anphilion Project...but the sheer number of FW and GW models needed to play any of the scenarios has turned it into a pretty-picture book, with some (note: SOME) reference material for my Red Scorpions army.
If this new book is anything like that, how the Hells are you supposed to get your hands on TWENTY TWO titans?
Probably just to give some insight into a Titan Legion, but still...
maybe you didnt see my post on the Character challenge or my email larry... check it out.
still confused

Yay! Forgeworld has the details up, including contents and sample pages - My Red Scorps are gonna get some more love! :D
Not totally unexpected with the Red Scorps Dread & Assault Squad pics BoLS leaked a while back, but nice to have confirmation! Plus it's always good to have more reference material.
Am I the only one to think that Titans are just too big to be playable?
Well, I have to admit I never played with one, but the whole logistics behind out would turn me off. I'd rather prefer a quick game of 1'000 points. I seriously wonder who seriously considers to get 21 Titans.
Oh well, chacun son gout, as the French say. ;-)
£8,600 worth of titans?
I have to resist the urge to swear. It seems GW is determined to go for the big stuff eh? Unless Bell of lost souls has more titans than I remeber, I don't think I've ever -heard- of 22 titans, amoung all the people I know, met or read blogs from. Seriously. Including chaos and Eldar.
Oh well, Forgeworld allways did like the big stuff. At there's got to be some millionare out there who's going to buy all 22 just to say he did, right?
I don't think the Imperium would use an entire Titan Legion in one battle, so unless you're building up a display of the entire Siege of Vraks (in which case paying for the Titans is a smaller issue than others) I don't think anyone's going to use "22 Titans."
Could be aimed at Epic tho, Some of the other IA books had elements for BG, Epic as well as 40k
Chill- people generally don't collect entire imperial guard regiments of 5000 men either- this page is just to show you what a titan legion looks like- pretty damn small.
22 fighting machines is not a lot to be calling a 'legion'.
this is background, not a new 'titan legion' datasheet :)
(drools at the idea of a titan legion datasheet)
The last time I ordered a FW book (last month) it arrived rattling around in a quite larger cardboard box, and one of the corners was smashed in enough to put a wrinkle in the corner of EVERY page.
I can still use it, but for over $100 I expect better. A lot better.
That is also not even close to an entire Titan Legio.
The picture is labeled "Reaver Battlegroup - Vraks", so that just the force assigned to the campaign.
We all know that the fighting backbone of a Titan Legio are the Warlords and there isn't a single one assigned to the campaign.
Anyone else notice the list for the renegades appears to be the Khorne focused list we saw pics off many moons ago?

"At there's got to be some millionare out there who's going to buy all 22 just to say he did, right?"
Also, such millionare will also have to get a small army of slave-hobbyists to assemble and paint them. :-D
I have enjoyed all 3 previous IA campaign books for more than just the rules but must say that IA:6 appears to be dissappointing in that department. Im sure I'll love the rest of the book though.
The Renegade and Heretics army list, having been leaked, does not offer much that is new although should go some way to placating those with a currently unsupported LaTD army.
The DKoK have been covered (well) and so get a couple of new units.
The only army list/rules that truly adds to the game will be the Red Scorpions ability to take more apothecaries than the 5th ed SM codex.
Don't get your hopes up for any good rules as I am certain Warwick will do his usual half-assed job of rehashing third edition rules.
2 down, 20 to go.
dont think ill be doing that somehow.
I ordered the new book the instant it came out for pre-order. It will go well with my Reaver Titan I'm working on. And for the record, the Legio Astorum is supposed to be a pretty good sized legion. I'd think the fact that they only sent 22 titans either means that this battle didn't warrant more than that, or that is what was in range to respond at the time.
You have to remember though that Imperial "invasion" of Tau space in IA3 only warranted 2 Warhound Titans. Kinda puts things into perspective.
slightly off topic, but did any of you guys checkout the forgeworld website recently and the section about the latest catalogue?
If you download the thing off the website it has the release date (sort of, it says summer 2008) and price for the new eldar cobra MKII.
Who is going to buy 22 Titans? Noone, you idiots. Nor is that the intention. Ever heard of FLUFF? It's supposed to be fiction non-fiction. Its all just military background material. And its the best thing any part of GW has ever done.
Oh noes! Immersion? How many points does that cost?! over powered lawl
Well, Siege of Vraks continue... looking forward for campaign description, pictures (love "real" inter action photos), lodsa stuff about vehicles (don´t forget that FW isn´t just about rules) and of course, about glorious path to great Imperial victory! *ehm, propaganda*
For Korps! For Krieg! For the Imperium! For the Emperor!
Looking forward to IA6. Allready got a small DKK army (company command, grenadiers, 2 infantry platoons and 3 tanks) so will be interesting to see the updates to the army list.
Oh, and to slaaneshi slave's comment on the Imperial invasion of Taros, Legio Ignatum sent 4 warhound class titans, not 2.
Uh, yeah, it was 4 Warhound Titans, and that wasn't an invasion, it was actually a defence of an Imperial planet.
Considering that, for the Imperium, Taros was a very small border war, 4 Titans was actually a fairly good showing. ;)
Also, yeah, the backbone of any Titan Legion are the Warlords. This is simply a local battlegroup.
Plus, it's not a datasheet. It's simply a pretty picture. Anyone buy the full Death Korps of Kreig Infantry Company picture in IA Vol 5? 740 DKoK models?
Thought not.
The Heretics Army List has been leaked?
Can't find it.. what does the new list contain, anyone any details?
thx
