Using Metagame to Your Advantage
by Wyatt Traina
Paintraina here, rabid defender of the BOLS status quo here with some tips on winning tournaments using metagame. Let me start by saying that I define the use of the term “Metagaming” in this article as “using trends in tournament groupthink to your advantage”. I know that’s not exactly right. I don’t care, and neither should you.

Goatboy's 40k List - Kitchen Sink Orks Return

Friday, December 03, 2010

I just wanted to show the list I plan on playing for my next Battle Report. It is Orks and I just want to give a showcase of it and hopefully get an alright video of me playing it. It will really depend on if the people who borrowed my orks bring them back to their evil Goat like master. It is a competitive minded list so I hope to get an alright game with it. I have some other ideas on how I want to change it up - but that will have to wait until after I finish my own Dark Eldar plus all the other client stuff I have to do. Being busy is good times :).
Orks - Wagons and Bikes oh MY!!!
HQ: Warboss, Warbike, Cybork, Power Klaw, Attack Squigg
HQ: Warboss, Mega Armor, Cybork, Attack Squigg, Bosspole
Elites: Lootas X 12
Elites: Lootas X 12
Troops: Meganobz X 4, Trukk, Ram, Red Paint Job
Troops: Nobz X 5, Cybork, Painboy, Warbikes, Power Klaw X 4, Bosspole, Waagh Banner, Kombi-Skorcha
Troops: Shoota Boyz X 20, Big Shoota X 2, Nob, PowerKlaw, Bosspole
Troops: Shoota Boyz X 20, Big Shoota X 2, Nob, PowerKlaw, Bosspole
Heavy: Battle Wagon, Big Shoota X 2, Deff Rolla, Red Paint, Grot Rigga
Heavy: Battle Wagon, Big Shoota X 2, Deff Rolla, Red Paint, Grot Rigga
So it is a basic mixture of random stuff with Orks in it. Land Raiders will have to be punched or rolled. I know - no Big Mek - I kinda wanted to play what I have painted up as well as converted. It should look neat on the field as a bunch of Orks go ramblin around and doing what Orks do best. Hoping to roll a 5 or 6 :).
Now that I am back to playing again on Thursdays - would you rather have him play a game with the list I wrote and do a write up on my personal blog? Would people be interested? Also, A Goatboy list with no triple SPAM!!!

The new Stormraven kit is not exactly turning heads like GW may have expected but I like it. I am glad I didn’t convert my own. I am looking forward to the new models and because of that I built a list that uses three of them.
