So the latest white Dwarf offers up some of the Design Studio’s hopes and dreams for the Storm Raven, and it sounds like they have larger plans for it then just the Blood Angels & Grey Knights.

Here is the money quote from White Dwarf:

“Well, we’ve been toying with the idea of a brand-new Space Marine kit for a while now, says Mat. It was actually Jervis’ idea. He thought there was a gap in the range for a medium-sized Space Marine skimmer, something to further highlight how Space Marines enter the fray. As that gestated in the collective Studio mind we looked for a suitable opportunity to bring the new aircraft into the 41st Millenium. The Blood Angels seemed the ideal candidates”

That sure sounds to me  like they wanted the vehicle to be an Astartes wide thing, but went with the Blood Angels and Grey Knights to not have to go back and rebalance or FAQ the older ones.

Fundamentally, the vehicle hasn’t totally changed the way Blood Angels are entering the field, and you still see many more BA army builds with foot, or ground based transports.  So it doesn’t seem like giving the StormRaven to the older books would break anything overnight.

I’d be willing to wager everyone gets it when their codices come around, (and sooner for Apocalypse).   So today’s question is would you be willing to let folks use it in the older marine codices if they wanted to give the new aircraft a spin as part of their armies?

Does anyone think the Stormraven is that unbalanced, for the older forces?  I can already see the blue Ultramarine ones in my head.  Have at it.
