40K REVIEW – Lost and the Damned – Imperial Armor 13

Check it out Heretic! Chaos Marines just got a new book taking them from zero to hero!

The new book just released from Forge World in a regular hard cover format on Halloween and if you play Chaos in any form in 40k, this book is for you. Forge World borrowed heavily from their Imperial Armor II War Machines of the Adeptus Astartes, and Imperial Armor Apocalypse for units to “adapt” over to Chaos.

Each section features new insights into each of the various vehicle types, from Super Heavies to Flyers, and provides rules for any vehicles covered that did not have them already. They also included some special Legacies of Ruin upgrades for vehicles in this book as well. Legacies of Ruin work just the same as their Imperial counterparts (the Legacies of Glory) except with the twist of benefiting the vehicles that they are purchased for, in a more Chaotic way. One of the cooler features of this book is the inclusion of a new army list for Renegade Guardsmen in 40k as well.

The new Renegades and Heretics takes the flavor of the old Lost and the Damned army from the Storm of Chaos book, and gives them some Forge World flair! It includes options for taking mutants, zombies, demagogues, alongside the normal compliment of Imperial Tanks. Plus they even wrote in the newer units to field as well like the Wyvern, and Bullygryns.

Overall it’s a great book with tons of fluff about the Dark Mechanicum, Daemon Forges, and new insights into the vehicles we’ve all come to love over the years.
