Family and the holidays still take most of my hobby time but this time it’s about a Daemonsmith sorcerer!

Hi! I`m Tommy from the little known blog bigbossredskullz and we are making a retro 4th ed miniature based Chaos Dwarfs army!

WiP
The Daemonsmith sorcerer is a must in any list so about time I got him done! I use Death magic on my Daemonsmith and as a dispel caddy so I want to incorporate those elements in the miniature.

I based it on the Great Taurus rider. For those who follow this series will remember I used the same miniature as the basis for my Infernal Castellan BSB.

Found a head from the zombie dragon sprues with those cool batwings so trimmed the old top (will repurpose the top) and the vampire head to get that instant “death mage” look. Had to greenstuff a new nose as the old one was cut off. Also greenstuffed a new undershirt and a scroll to symbolize the dispel scroll. Finally I gave him a sword instead of the hammer.

Not fan of capes but it was simpler to hide the old saddle that’s part of the sculpt that way.

Better angle on the scroll. My greenstuff skills aren’t top notch but passable at least

Finished
Painted him up similar to my Sorcerer Prophet.

Pleased with it but I kinda feel that it’s not my best work for some reason. Ah well.
Notice something different here? The basing 😉 We’ll get back to the reason for the base next time!

What I got for Christmas
Not a lot of hobby stuff under the three but I got End Times Nagash in softback. Excellent! The highlight though was giving my oldest son (9 years) his first hobby starter kit, a tactical squad and a dreadnought. He was very pleased to say the least! 😀
That’s it for part 10! Go check out my 2014 summary on my blog. This year has been my very best with over 8000 points painted over 3 armies so go check it out!
How’s your hobby year been and did you get any cool presents for Christmas?
