Wow…So it’s a full 35 pts army for nearly half price? Plus whatever other savings a potential buyer might wrangle? That is incredibly impressive

    • Benandorf

Warmachine has been known to be discounted another 20-25% by gamestores, too, as I believe they get a pretty good wholesale price (at least compared to, say, GW games). I’ve seen some places that one of these boxes can be picked up for $95 or so, which is an extremely tempting price point.

      • Joe D. Foster

That’s what I paid for my Khador Box at Miniature Market – I had to add a blister to bump my total up to above $99 for free shipping.

        • What did you pick up? I grabbed Butcher3 with mine.

          • Joe D. Foster

Just the Widowmaker Marksman solo – he was just enough to nudge me over the line.

    • They’re also legitimately good lists. Unlike the seasonal specials they often put out, these boxes are well-designed lists that are quite competitive and fun.

  • Aaron LeClair

Question to those who know the faction. Would it be good to also get the starter box on top of this for the 3 extra jacks and a warcaster to make use of?

    • Rich Brautman

Definitely not worth it. Retribution doesn’t like to play jack heavy. They’re an infantry heavy faction. The only exception is one theme force (Vyros2) that plays a bunch of light jacks.

      • Darge

        And Kaelyssa’s Force Wall theme

    • Darge

The jacks are good to haveand kaelyssa is a good caster, but ret is a faction that aside from a few skewed lists ways to only user one or two jacks. You’re infantry is very solid and they have some of the best solos in the game.

      • Matthew Pomeroy

sadly no multi hit infantry though.

  • euansmith

Does anyone know what the minis are made of; metal, resin or some version of “plastic”?

    • Rich Brautman

The units of Halbs (not UA) and Riflemen, as well as the jacks are plastic. The rest of the box is metal.

    • Darge

Most single models are going to be metal, as well as unit and weapon attachments. Most jacks and beasts are in plastic, especially the multi kits (notable exception being a lot of mercs and minions are in metal). Units are being slowly converted to plastics so there’s a mixture there.

It should also be noted that all of these “all-in-one-army” boxes include every option included in the full kits unlike the battle box starters.

In the case of this box, the contents are as follows:

Metal • Warcaster Issyria, Sibyl of Dawn
      Plastic • Banshee Heavy Myrmidon
      Plastic • Manticore Heavy Myrmidon
Plastic • Houseguard Halberdier Unit (10)
Metal • Houseguard Halberdier Officer & Standard Unit Attachment
Plastic • Houseguard Rifleman Unit (10)
      Metal• Arcanist Solo
      Metal • Houseguard Thane Solo
Metal • Eiryss, Mage Hunter of Ios Mercenary Solo

      • euansmith

        Thanks.

  • D_Ork

OK – how do you pronounce “Scyrah”? SIE-rah? SKY-rah? SKEER-ah?

    • vladmech

      SIGH-rah

      • D_Ork

        thanks!

  • Matthew Pomeroy

The price is very very good, the army I am hesitant with. I have a massive ret army and that build looks like you will be hurting focus wise to make it more efficient. The houseguard formations are solid though so even “sketchy” this force should put up a good fight. now I am going to just hope they get cryx out soon.
