We all know it’s got issues – here is our Top 10 problems we NEED to see fixed with the goody-two-shoes Eldar.

1) Wave Serpent’s Serpent Shield – The shooting attack should be once per game AND the attack should be D3+3 shots. Why? It’s just too good the way it’s written now – I think we can all agree on that. I don’t know if it was an oversite when they wrote it but having that weapon on a mobile platform like a Wave Serpent is just too much.

2) Howling Banshees – Give them Assault Grenades already! Or at least give them some ability to ignore the assaulting through cover penalty. Those Banshee Masks are supposed to be utterly terrifying and yet you can defend against them by having a potted fern in the way. I call this the “Shrubbery” defense.

3) Guardian Defenders and Storm Guardians – Tweak their BS/WS to be appropriate. The Defenders should be lowered to WS 3 and the Storm Guardians should have their BS lowered to 3 as well. There is no reason for the local Eldar Baker to be equal to a Space Marine in BOTH BS and WS – I can see one or the other if they were specialized but both is just too good.

4) The Wraithknight – The Sunshield options are a joke. The Suncannon isn’t worth the 30 extra points vs the other shield option and the shield doesn’t provide enough protection to justify swapping it out for the default options. Drop the ‘blind’ effect, make the Shield a 4++ and make it provide cover to Eldar units within 6″ – then maybe you won’t see the double wraithcannons every time.

5) The Falcon – make it cheaper and move it to the ‘Dedicated Transports’ section. Wait what? Yes, you read that correctly. Move it to the dedicated transport option. The Falcon is a gunboat. The Wave Serpent is a better gunboat. So why is the better choice a Dedicated Transport and the less option is a Heavy Support choice? The Falcon has a transport capacity of 6 – it’s basically a Razorback already – so lets just make it official!

6) Vyper Jetbikes – These should just be cheaper. They need to be 50 points after weapon upgrades plain and simple.

7) The Eldar have access to Malefic Daemonology – according to page 28 of the BRB – this needs to be changed. Eldar should not be able to summon demons. Ever. They are supposed to be the anti-chaos and they hide from those powers because they want to EAT them.

8) Fix the other Aspect Warriors – If you’re not Dire Avengers, Dark Reapers or Fire Dragons – and you’re an Aspect Warrior – You need help. The Swooping Hawks and Warp Spiders are borderline but I don’t think I’ve seen Striking Scorpions, Howling Banshees (which we’ve covered), or those other ones (who I can’t even remember the name of) on any table in ages.

9) The Ghosthelm is broken – There is almost no risk for Eldar psykers if they have a Ghosthelm. You can throw all but one of your dice at any power and if you perils, you just toss out that last die and you don’t take the wound. Oh sure you might lose a power or something – but there is no risk to the psyker actually taking a hit.

10) The Hemlock Wraithfighter

Well BoLS fans what do you think? Did we miss any? Are we completely wrong? Do you have AnecData (Anecdotal Data) to back up or disprove any of these points? Let us know in the comments below!
