GEEKERY: Japan vs US Giant Robot Fight UPDATE
The challenge was accepted – now Team USA needs your help to prepare the Mk.II for battle!
You may remember that Megabots challenged Suidobashi Heavy Industry to a giant robot duel – previously covered here. Suidobashi accepted the challenge with the stipulation that melee combat be included. This means the Mk.II needs some serious upgrades to survive the fight:
Add heavy duty armor plating
Add some serious firepower
Upgrade hydraulics to handle the heavier armor and firepower
Increase top speed
Upgrade power unit to keep up with our new hydraulic system and speed
Test a wide range of weapons and choose the best load-out
Keep balance during hand to hand combat and not fall over
Not injure pilots in the cockpit during combat
Fight with an incredibly sweet paint job. While not strictly required, this is a matter of national pride.
These upgrades are going to cost a pretty penny. The team has some corporate sponsors, but they need some extra help to get from the current model to this bad boy:
