I’m here again with a friendly review of more figures from Kromlech.  This time I am going to review the Rotten Octopus Crew

The Rotten Octopus Crew set contains 14 figures in total; all of the first wave of Goblin Pirates.  You can choose round or square bases for these 28mm scale figures.  In addition to the Octopus Crew you can buy additional Goblin Salty Dogs, Goblin Pirates Deck Cannon, and captain Gobbosa “Blakk Eye” .  with his beloved pet Gnawer.

About half of these figures come with hands you can attach so you can make a lot of different looking guys.  The options include hatchet, cutlass, flintlock and hook hands.  Another portion of the figures are armed with blunderbusses holding them in two hands.  Check out the banner waver.  Their standard is made from an old broom and has the skeleton of a fish hanging from it.  You can tell these guys do not mess around! 🙂

Here we have one of the goblins carrying a small cannon and the deck cannon and crew.

Next up is First Mate Snakdrug.  He’s the Cap’ns right hand man and is there to keep the riff raff inline.  He’s sporting a nice pipe and a bag of gold?  More likely a bag of rocks but we’ll never know for sure.  You can buy him with the command squag which includes the banner waver and the trumpeter or, if you buy the Rotten Octopus” set you will get him in that set.

Finally we have Gobbosa “Blakk Eye” and faithful pet Gnawer.  Gobbosa is the leader of this stalwart band of salty see dogs.  He’s got some great details as well such as the star fish on his captains hat, jewel topped cane, flintlock pistole and an assortment of items dangling from his belt.

I bought the Rotten Octopus set, a few sets of salty dogs, the captain and the desk gun to make a large unit of gobbos.  These models have a ton of character and loads of detail.  I can’t wait to get to painting them.

What do you all think?
