AVP: Weyland-Yutani & Predator Add-ons

AVP Spread

Prodos Games unveils some new “Humans” to join the fray – and a close in unveil of the Predators to boot!

Alien vs Predator is heating up with new Weyland Yutani Commandos. Prodoss Games also showed off a set of very slick looking Predators as well. Check them out below:

Predators Add-on

Weyland Yutani Commandos Add-on

I’m liking the paint scheme on the Predators and the Weyland-Yutani Commando sculpts are right in line with the rest of the AVP universe. I’m looking forward to seeing what else Prodos has in store!

If you’d like to learn more about AVP check it out at Prodos Game’s Website.

New Weyland-Yutani Commandos…More factions to fight with?

  • euansmith

Have they managed to raise enough money to supply the Kickstarter?

    • Tyris

      nope

      • euansmith

Bum… my mate is waiting on that darn lovely looking stuff…

        • Talos2

They’ve got it in the shops before they supplied the Kickstarter?

          • euansmith

From what I understand, the financing on the kickstarter went a bit wayward for some reason; so they are trying to get the cash together to fulfill the pledges. It is a shame because the models are insanely cool.

          • Talos2

Is that just the extra bits or did they not even get the core game that is on the shelf in my local store? That would be insane

          • euansmith

My chum hasn’t received anything. I don’t know how it is for others.

          • Bradley Dunn

They used the Kickstarter funds to bankroll retail production and make up for shortfalls on Warzone, and can’t afford to ship the pledge packages.

Awesome for those of us who are still waiting on our Kickstarter pledges.

The “you can look, but not touch” news articles on BoLS aren’t doing them any favors either.

          • euansmith

I feel the same about DUST: Babylon :'(

          • Talos2

I can’t believe that’s legal. The people that paid the Kickstarter paid for its existence after all. Really puts me off ever using it. I think I’ll leave the one I’d planned on buying on my local store shelf too if that’s how they treat people that trusted them with their money. Their stand at salute could be pretty entertaining next year

          • Tyris

            Not one 32mm plastic sausage.

          • Shinnentai

Base game has been on shop shelves since July – in fact shops have had re-stocks. 1st wave of add-ons is now available with the 2nd wave soon to come. As a UK backer I’ve yet to receive anything at all. I think possibly they’re waiting until everything in the pledge is available then shipping to save postage costs.

          • E65

Mate, that cannot be right. My box arrived couple of months ago to OZ. You should have had yours. Contact them. BTW, my box had ALL the juvenile alien heads missing! The replacements arrived, but make sure you check figure contents soon as you get yours. Who knows when we’ll see Wave 2.

          • euansmith

My friend is a UK Backer too and he is waiting for his stuff. Maybe Australia lucked out for once and got an early batch.

I sympathise with Prodos for having a big project blow up in there faces, though you would have thought they would have learned from the issues they had with Warzone. Hopefully they can get everything sorted out and get on to an even keel.

The general impression I get is that Kickstarter Backers are very upset/disgruntled … delay upon delay upon delay in honouring Kickstarter backer’s pledges … Amazing IP just poorly executed … Have to admit seeing projects like this does make me more wary about what I back in crowd funding …

      • euansmith

Pretty much everything I’ve backed has been late; and I’ve back of so very many campaigns 😀 The only one I’ve been really stiffed on is the DUST: Babylon kickstarter.

    • An_Enemy

Wow. I did not know that. I was on my way to another site to buy the core game too. That’s not happening now.

      • euansmith

You can buy it; in fact doing so would help folks waiting for the kickstarter 😀

  • Andrew

I’d be willing to pick this up even after all the Kickstarter shenanigans; but I have to wonder if the game is even fun.

  • Marek Gackiewicz

I have the retail set and It’s quite a fun game. Alas the addons are so horribly expensive that I probably won’t invest any more :(. 35 pounds for an Alien Queen? That’s even a price GW wouldn’t dare.

    • Talos2

      Are you sure?

      • Marek Gackiewicz

For that amount of plastic, yeah I’m pretty sure ;). For example Hive Tyrant is way bigger and is cheaper 😛

        • E65

          Resin, not plastic.

        • Talos2

If you compare it to the £19 assassins though……..;)

          • Marek Gackiewicz

HT was resin some time ago. Doesn’t matter. Still at least 30% overpriced.

  • Tomek Nowik

Well I love prodos miniatures and I love the franchises they own for their miniature games(both WZR and Alien vs Predator). But their overall policies are just plain horrible and their rules writing is shoddy.

    • E65

Shoddy like Gdub or just shoddy!

      • Tomek Nowik

I never had 5 guys standing over GW rules trying to figure out what writer had in mind.

        • E65

          You are fortunate.

          • Tomek Nowik

            Meh.

          • euansmith

Not all gaming groups contain 5 members 😀
