So far we have showcased the platoons for Circle and the Legion of Everblight, Cygnar and Cryx, the Trollbloods and Skorne and Mercenaries and Minions. Today we dive into the flames of the Protectorate and the precision of Convergence.

Protectorate of Menoth: The Blades of Vengeance

Blood runs thicker than water, but combat forges bonds that bridge even death. Each member of the Blades of Vengeance has watched many comrades be struck down in battle, and each bears painful memories of those sent to the City of Man before their time. Sustained by their faith in the Creator, they will persevere in striking down His enemies until they too join the fallen.

The Blades of Vengeance is composed of a unit of Daughters of the Flame and a unit of Knights Exemplar, all led by a Knights Exemplar Seneschal. This platoon will make your opponent regret each and every model he destroys. When one member of The Blades falls, the rest of the platoon becomes empowered as they seek revenge for their fallen comrade. For example, one of the new abilities the Daughters of the Flame gains from a platoon promotion is Inspire Revenge, which reads: When a friendly model with Inspire Revenge is destroyed by an enemy attack, friendly platoon models within 5˝ of the destroyed model gain +2 MAT for one round.

In Platoon Skirmish games, the Blades of Vengeance pose an interesting dilemma for your opponent to deal with, especially considering the Daughters of the Flame. With two Anatomical Precision attacks each and the fact that Inspire Revenge works on other Daughters, this unit can absolutely tear through enemy infantry with little to no effort. While some Daughters will have to sacrifice their lives in the process, the few that reach the enemy lines will wreak utter havoc.

Convergence of Cyriss: Operation 35

With the coming Phase of Alignment, securing geomantic sites is of the utmost importance to the Convergence of Cyriss. Given their limited military assets, the order relies on precise calculations to determine exactly which forces will be required to anchor a ley line nexus. Operation 35 has been assembled at the behest of Iron Mother Directrix as a means to lock down key nexuses in the more sparsely populated areas of Immoren. These vessels—and the souls that reside within—fight with ruthless efficiency and single-minded purpose to do their part in the Great Work.

Operation 35 is composed of two units of Clockwork Angels, three Elimination Servitors, three Reflex Servitors, and is led by a Steelsoul Protector. Much like the machines of the Convergence, this platoon is all about working together in perfect harmony. Each platoon promotion provides a new layer of synergy for this group of mechanical killers, which opens up new strategies and tactics. For example, one of the new abilities the Spike Ejectors of the Elimination Servitors gain is Priority Marker, which reads: Friendly platoon models ignore a model hit by a weapon with Priority Marker when determining LOS for one turn.

In Platoon Skirmish games, this force might seem a bit smaller and more fragile than others, but its offensive capabilities cannot be ignored. Before your opponent knows what has happened, his platoon will be whittled down to a handful of terrified survivors struggling to fight back. When working in tandem, Operation 35 is a force to be reckoned with!

That’s all for today, but check back next week when we take a look at the platoons available for Khador and the Retribution of Scyrah.

Are you ready to go to battle with the lynchpin of your force missing? Well get ready because EVERYONE is playing without their ‘Caster!
