I spy Cryx.  What do you see?

~Get on your sleuthing hats and tell us what you think it is!

  • Red_Five_Standing_By

Looks like a fancy Cryx model!

It kind of looks like it will have a scorpion tail!

    • euansmith

      A fancy-pants, store-bought, citified Cryx model!

  • Mr. Nailbrain

    THE INFLICTOR, FINALLY!

    • Red_Five_Standing_By

What does he inflict upon his enemies?

      • Severius_Tolluck

I will fong you, until your insides are out, your outsides are in, your entrails will become your extrails I will w-rip… all the p… ung. Pain, lots of pain

        • ZeeLobby

          bahahaha, this was great!

          • Severius_Tolluck

I wish I could take credit, but the delivery is all to Alan Tudyk! and Knight’s Tale. Figured it would be the best response!

          • ZeeLobby

Oh, i know. Love that movie, sometimes the modernized music thrown in makes me cringe, but it seems like there’s very few fantasy/medieval movies, and light hearted ones at that, released anymore.

          • Severius_Tolluck

True that movie had such odd moments. Or the main love interest, she is such an anachronism between how she talks, her hair, etc, very off putting. Overall though it was a good movie.

      • euansmith

        Or! He inflicts or!

    • oldgrue

SHHH!! They’ll push it back a decade!

  • oldgrue

Its the jack they reset versions for.

  • Varou

inflictor/seether kit. the numbers is the points conversio from mkII to mkIII

    • wibbling

      Thank you! Much obliged.

  • wibbling

8=13?What is that a reference to?

    • Rattlernxt

Evidently it’s the points conversion from Mk2 to Mk3

  • zeno666

    Finally!

  • Is anyone else noticing that all the Helljacks we’re seeing are getting quite a bit proportionally cheaper?

I wonder if that’s going to be a general trend or if it’s specific to Helljacks, with them being generally fragile compared to everyone else’s heavies.

    • ZeeLobby

Might be specific to helljacks. Many were kind of lack-luster to begin with. Maybe this will make Cryx jack heavy lists a thing. While the new rules definitely promote big stompy jacks/beasts, if all points just doubled Cryx would still probably take the min, or the everpresent Deathjack.

      • Severius_Tolluck

Yeah looks so, at ten point when everything else doubled I would imagine they are meant to be swarm. Which is kinda a scary thought. Now I haven’t figured it out but when they doubled the costs did they also then double the general expected point costs for games? IE; 35 limit will become 70 for steam roller?

        • ZeeLobby

So they actually announced new events will be 75pts, so basically around 37.5 old points. With casters war-noun allowance doubling you’re looking at around 12-18 extra points in jacks on top of that. So games should stay relatively close to the 50 pt games people are used to.

The main reason for the points value changes were just to allow more movement for values when balancing. There were a lot of solos which weren’t quite a 3, but were too good of value for a 2. Probably should be a 2.5. Well now you make em a 5, and they fit nicely in that range.

          I’m pretty excited.

          • Severius_Tolluck

Me too. First ed i was not very fond of, did like second but it felt limiting in some ways. Looking forward how it will work now!

      • I think the whole “points are doubled” thing is a misquote. I think saying the point SCALE has doubled would be more appropriate, and the much bigger WJP numbers plus what’s looking to be an overall slight reduction in proportional warjack costs goes hand-in-hand with the game pushing for bigger battlegroups.
