Nepharya 2

Imbued with great necromantic powers, she ruthlessly lords over necrocyber zombies who serve as bodyguards and cannon fodder for the Iron Empire (our Prussian style army).

THE IRON EMPIRE (IE)
The Iron Empire is made up of exiled people that have somehow stumbled upon necromantic knowledge from alien pharaonic gods. They combine Prussian and Germanic influences with some kind of Aegyptian cyber necromancy that allow them to raise the dead and create bio-mechanical aberrations.

Nepharya (NecroPriestess) + 25 mm round base

This is a really cool model. It’s a perfect fit for Ad Mech armies as a Tech-Priest or for Necrons as a Overlord (with the right paint job at least). Hey, if you wanted to really get creative you could even run this model with a Cryx force as Denegrha or AsphyxiousIt’s you’re model – you do what you want!

I always knew Doc Ock was a Tech-Priest at heart.

  • Firemind

Such a stupid weapon, ruins the whole model for me.

    • rakshasa

It’s not like you cannot modify the scythe thingy…it’s plastic, after all.
For me conversions is 50% of the hobby, but to each their own.

      • Firemind

Of course, you can cut off the scythe thing. Probably use a power axe from the dominus if you’re using it for 40k (Like I would be if I ever got this model) That doesn’t make it look less awkward, in my opinion of course.

        • Chris. K Cook

Yeah the sythe would have to go if I used her as a regular Tech preist, It would stay for a Dark Mech character using R&H though.

  • tune

would rather be a perfect female haemonculus than a necron overlord because of all the skin.

  • rakshasa

I have her, and she is beautiful !

  • Damistar

I would think it would make a better Warpsmith than a Tech Priest. Too much living tissue for Mars.

    • ZeeLobby

I was thinking you could do a nice gold paint on it, and make it metal skin.

    • DeadlyYellow

It does look like Denegrha killed a warpsmith and is now wearing it’s skin.

    • Chris. K Cook

Not all Tech Preists are that far down the path of cyborgation.

  • Hedwerx

Male technomancers normally splash out and buy the whole robe. I guess she was on a budget.

    • ZeeLobby

Male technomancers live in their parents basement. If they HAD 6-packs they’d buy the same robe…

      • Hedwerx

Isn’t it pretty standard for all ‘mancers to operate out of some kind of subterranean lair? Be it a crypt, dungeon, or basement. Letting the side down otherwise.

        • rakshasa

Looks like someone hasn’t read Mechanicum. 😛

          • Hedwerx

Nope, “forgot” to buy any other HH books after Fulgrim. Which Mechanicum Adepts are referred to as Technomancers?

          • rakshasa

I don’t remember specifically (it’s been a while), somewhow in my mind most high ranking adepts (at least those based on Mars) are tehnomancers as well, at least the fabricator general, Urtzi and Chrom and the loyalist she-adept that was opposing him.
Anyway I was mostly reffering to the fact that none of the adepts mentioned in the Mechanicum were in subterranean lairs, but mostly in tech fortresses which are basically forge hive cities. It could be argued that the she-adept had control of a giant foge city inside a Volcano, but not a subterranean lair per se 🙂

    • Mathew G. Smith

Idk, electropriests wear a lot less than her.

  • Commissar Ahmad

In general, I’m disappointed with this line. It’s too sexualized. It’s possible to convey toughness, femininity, and sexyness in a miniature without having absurdly large boobs busting out all over the place.

    • Boondox

Yes it is. But that doesn’t sell as well as boobs….

      • ZeeLobby

Even my female gaming friends want female characters with boobs. Give them a bunch of bulky plate armor, and they’re much less interested.

        • zeno666

          Same here. More forms 🙂

      • Commissar Ahmad

I don’t know about that. Infinity has a pretty good range of female models that aren’t this overdone, and they seem to be doing well.

        • rakshasa

I dunno, I’m looking at my Ariadnan army and can see most females being quite oversexualized … lookin’ at my cossak chick and caledonian volunteer with LGL. Not to mention the female biker models from other armies. O, o, o, o and basically all the Aleph female models. Not oversexualized my as* …

      • Greg Fleming

If they gave us SoB types in proper power armour, do you have any idea how well they would sell??!! They’ve got great sculpts, but even in make-believe land, I want armour to cover the vital points. I can suspend my belief only so much.

    • Couldn’t agree more, pretty much every model has a glaringly bad design choice that ruins it for me. This is extremely competent design with really mediocre ideas run amok.

    • rakshasa

You seem to miss the fact that the “pin-up” style is intentional. And their KS1 and KS2 did very very well.
In general I’m quite happy with this line exactly because it’s oversexualized. If I want me some gritty realistic ranges, there are a few to choose from.

  • Altavion

Maybe a decent Heretek Magus even.

  • Jooster

Gee I sure do love armouring up my nipples. So glad I left my vital organs exposed for it.

    • Countdiscount

One day, nipple armor technology will catch up to the visionaries of the Illustration, and miniature design industries. But alas, today, our nipples stand vulnerable o attack.

  • zeno666

GW has a lot to learn from these guys/gals. These models are great.
