Do we really need these “it’s what it says in the box”-videos for things that are not new? I mean, all of the models in these kits have been released previously in the same form, just separately.

    • Mike X

Yeah, all we really need to see is the formation sheet. And even those have already been online for a while now.

    • Red_Five_Standing_By

Content is content. Some people may have never cracked open a faction’s model set before. The video isn’t hurting you.

Seriously, better a content video than a simple double post (since this is the second time today we’ve gotten a post about these sets).

      • Shiwan8

They could have just skipped this part and do something else.

    • OldHat

Clicks, man. CLICKS. Rob needs to get paid!

      • Shiwan8

I very much disagree on the “need” part.

        • OldHat

I bet he would insist on it being so. 😉

          • Shiwan8

            4 sure, dawg.

          • OldHat

Wonder if our comments will get deleted soon. 😀

            5, 4, 3…..

Speaking of the Content… Did GW overproduce that Commissar Sprue by an Order of Magnitude?

    • Red_Five_Standing_By

I don’t think people are taking Commisars, which is why we are getting them. Regardless, the formation is ace.

      • Djbz

The Commisar is the same points cost as an imperial guard priest who is used in a similar way (to stop the unit running away)
        Except with a priest you get;
Complete immunity to fear/morale/pinning with a priest, rather than an increased resistance to it
Re-rolls to hit in the first close combat round
Potential to re-roll saves in combat
        A 4+ invunerable save.

The only benefit of using a Commisar over a priest is higher Leadership for Orders (which can be equaled/surpassed by a vox caster in each unit and/or the new Cadian Battle group’s command benefits)

        • Shiwan8

GW, ever vigilant with the appropriate point costs.

        • Mr_Pickles

So a Commisar is the Grimdark answer to morale issues, where as the Priest is the goody-two-shoes approach? I think GW needs to fix this.

      • Michael R.

Don’t get me wrong. If I’d start a Scion army i’d still buy 3 boxes but this is just ridiculous. If I Start an Combined Imperialguard/Scion Army I’d have the same Commissar at least 2 ttmes… 6 if no one stops me 😛

      • Karru

For me the problem with the plastic commissar is the fact that here is no easy reposing or part changing. This means that I don’t see the point on buying more than one of it since otherwise I would have the same model again and again in the army.

I also like to think that there is quite a few people out there that suffer from this same problem. I like to use commissars in my army but I just can’t bring myself to use the same model more than twice in the army.

  • E65

    Whats is the point?

  • Alpharius

These starters are cute and all (I bought two of the Skitarii one, and they all look solid), but I wish these two armies and Dark Eldar got new books.

  • MightyOrang

So this is the second and third ‘we can’t give this stuff away’ boxed set — DE being the other one.

Still, I applaud their efforts. But still – a Taurox? They should be grinding that model up and moving on.
