And there’s more…

Carrion Thralls$44.99

Ravenous and incredibly agile, Carrion Thralls provide numerous tactical options to Cryxian commanders as a harrying force. Their mobility makes them great at swooping in and snatching objectives mid- to late-game.

Inflictors are fiercely protective of their masters and use their considerable mass and armor to shield them at all costs.

These nigh uncontrollable constructs are more than mere killing machines, though; they are an accomplishment of malign intent. The soul drives grafted to their cortexes alter the behavior of these abominations in combat—captive souls give the Inflictor preternatural awareness of incoming threats.

The murderously aggressive Seethers were created for slaughter, a task they achieve with singular efficiency. These nigh-uncontrollable constructs are more than mere killing machines, though; they are an accomplishment of malign intent. Using the horrific soul drives grafted to their cortexes, these abominations extract energy from the rage of souls bound for endless torment in order to fuel their own dark predations.

Black 13th Strike Force$21.99

With all-new, updated sculpts for the new edition, the Black 13th Strike Force remains a powerful elite unit for Cygnar armies. Now boasting Concentrated Fire, the members of the Black 13th become more accurate and deadly with each hit made by its members, allowing them the tactical flexibility to take down a wide range of targets when combined with their magelock Attack Types.

Arcane Tempest Rifleman$12.99

A strong ranged combat solo, the Arcane Tempest Rifleman boasts a number of excellent abilities including Arcane Precision, which allows him to ignore Stealth. His Marksman ability to choose the column or branch damaged when attacking a warjack or warbeast can be game-changing when used with the Deadly Shot attack type from his magelock rifle.

If you’re looking to pick up Warmachine this is a great time to do it. There’s going to be a lot of new things coming to the game in the coming months. Everyone is learning the new edition, there’s a host of organized play events starting up, and the battle box is a steal.

What are your thoughts on these upcoming releases?

    Awesome! New Cygnar goodies! Woot!

    • petrow84

I hope the Black 13th is now not a hobbit division…

  • Red_Five_Standing_By

    Looks awesome.

  • ZeeLobby

Argh… gonna be even harder to choose between cygnar and cryx to start mk3.

    • zeno666

If you didn’t play Cryx during Mk2 you might enjoy them in Mk3.
Cygnar was and still is in a very good place.

But then again, we all know that the forces of evil always have the most fun 😉

      • ZeeLobby

I played cygnar and only a little cryx. I’m really looking into getting into cryx now.

  • ChubToad

Cool now to wait for the Hordes one. Will Circle be there again?

    • zeno666

Nope, they’re switching that one as well. Skorne and Trollbloods

      • ChubToad

Awww, will this be the oportunity to start Trolls??

        • zeno666

Just avoid Skorne, and maybe Cryx and you’re fine 😉

          • ZeeLobby

            Lol. Uh oh. Why?

          • According to The Internet (which, of course, is all-knowing and always right), Skorne and Cryx are both useless and bad and will never win any game ever in the history of the whole wide world in Mk III.

In other words: ignore zeno. He hates fun.

        • ZeeLobby

Some of my favorite models for sure. My friend grabbed them first otherwise I’d be on board.

          • zeno666

            The 😉 was a hint that I wasn’t serious.
I play both and I’m having a blast with the new edition.
Some stuff took a serious beating though in both factions. But then again, some really deserved it, like the Bile Thralls.
And they really went for the kneecaps on Asphyxious2, which I thought was sad, he was a favorite of mine, he is the Skeletor of Warmachine 🙂
But they made some changes to other casters like Scaverous which really makes him interesting now!

  • Kolobius

I have been looking to get into Warmachine for a few months but held off because of the new edition dropping. Could somebody that is familiar with it tell me if this is a good buy for a future Cygnar player?

    • zeno666

The new Cygnar caster is quite good. The Lancer you will need in the future (arc node). And the ironclad is a cheap heavy in the new rules, which is a really good thing.
The other ones I can’t say if they will be “future proof”, but the Firefly do synergize with anything doing electrical damage, which the Stormguards do.
And they’re also a reach unit with set defense, so they can act as a meatshield, a bit expensive one at that. But they do offer some offensive punch as well.

If you can share this box with a fellow Cryx-player, this is an amazing startbox!

      • Noridaii

Zeno666, you dropped a ton of rules jargon there that may not help a nove a whole lot – despite it all being true 🙂

        • zeno666

Well I just can’t explain EVERYTHING in detail in a comment field 😉
Some people write novells here, I prefer not to.
But the rules are free, and the exploration of the rulebook is part of the fun!

    • Noridaii

Kolobius, its a solid start. Not crazy amazing, but solid and will give you options which you should definitely continue to use as your expand your collection. What is even more important than the models themselves is the full rulebook it comes with. There is the free PDF out,t here, but a small condensed rulebook you can keep in your bag will be really great to have as a reference.

  • Laurence J Sinclair

Wow, the Arcane 13th will now be regular-person-sized! I will treasure my OG tinyfolks though.

    • Vomkrieg

I put my guys on tall bases and stands so they didnt quite look like midgets. Those models should never have seen release to be honest

  • Lewis Anderson

Anybody know if ALL new releases are colored plastic?

    • Just the starter sets, as far as we know.

This was done because, well, if you’ve never played a wargame before in your life, can you tell the difference between a gray plastic Lancer and Revenger?

  • Ive played for a year without owning either faction, and I might get this just to start my collection of these two factions

  • So for perspective, for anyone still on the fence:

Maddox – ~$15 (only available in the BB or this set)
    Ironclad – $35
    Lancer – $19
    Firefly – $19
    Stormguard – $50

Agathia – ~$15 (only available in the BB or this set)
    Slayer – $35
    Reaper – $35
Deathripper – ~$10 (comes in pairs usually)
    Bane Thralls – $50

…so the two units ALONE cost more individually than the entire starter set. An absolutely outstanding deal–even better than the individual Battleboxes, in fact.

  • Richard Mitchell

I was thinking about getting in Cygnar too. Looks like it is the right time.

  • alleus

I just wish they would stop calling these models “plastic”. They are resin, don’t be fooled. Now, they ARE making some new kits in proper plastic, but AFAIK all the models in the starter box are made of resin.

    • zeno666

Isn’t resin a kind of plastic?
