White Dwarf – October – A Peek Inside

The new massive White Dwarf is almost here. Take a look inside the covers of GW’s latest version of the classic franchise.

As you would expect the October issue is ALL about Genestealer Cults – and deservedly so. Take a look inside to see what’s coming to your mailbox this week:

First up, everyone gets a free Will of Iron comicbook! He does look bitter!

Then we see a hint of the coverage of the 2016 Slayer Sword winning miniature.  I love to see what artists at the top of their game can accomplish. Ole Gutrot has never looked better!

Take a look at this – a rare interview with Jes Goodwin, 30 veteran artist of the Design Studio.  I cant wait to hear what the man behind Craftworld Eldar, their Dark Kin, and so much more will have to say about his tenure in the designer’s chair.

Yet more on the titan Comics new series of 40K comics.

“Will of Iron”? It should be about the Iron Hands, not the Dark Angels.

    • rtheom

Shhhh… it’s not a real chapter if it’s not an Ultra, an Angel or a Wolf.

      • euansmith

The Ultra Angel Wolves shall be my new Chapter!

        • Simon Chatterley

We of the Angel Ultra Wolves despise the Ultra Angel Wolves the most.

        • rtheom

And yea, was born the most ultimate of chapters, the only army ever allowed to have formations, within formations, within formations. Legends say that the ultimate formation, which consisted of one of every Space Marine kit GW has ever produced simply had the rules text “You win.” written upon it.

        • Shawn

          Thank you Matt Ward.

    • Randy Randalman

Iron Hands don’t really have a WILL of iron; just a lot of metal body parts.

      • Alex Rowley

So a WILLY of iron instead?

      • Shawn

Technically speaking yes, but I’d argue that their Will is more steely like Iron than the Dark Angels.

  • GiftoftheMagi

Holy crap, Jes Goodwin. Big fan of his rather bizarre and gruesome style.

  • Randy Randalman

It’s good to see the variety of new content in these White Dwarfs. I think people will be ultra excited by the first three of the new year…

    • I just hope they do some more free minis, free board game rules, etc. I wasn’t blown away by last issue, but throwing in free stuff helps a great deal to make the purchase worth it to me, lol.

    • Tshiva keln

Ok, I’ll bite. What do you know about next year’s white dwarfs?

      • euansmith

Do you think that “… ultra excited…” is a spoiler? Maybe a new Ultramarines release? Twice as hard for half the points.

        • Tshiva keln

The problem with that theory is he said people would be excited. That implies to me the average Joe and I’m pretty sure the only people who like ultramarines all work at gw hq!

  • Is it just me has this site become almost unusable on mobile with all the pop-ups?

    • wibbling

Notable that any discussion of this problem is removed.

    • James__P

I’m rarely looking at BoLS now, for the same reason. I appreciate that they need ad revenue but surely it’s counterproductive to earn it in a way that makes people less likely to want to view your site?

    • pad_uk

      It’s not just you.

    • It’s also buggy as hell, the “Switch to Desktop” banner jumps all over the page whenever you scroll

    • Burnt Angel

Yeah I replied to you, agreeing and my comment was removed. Make of that what you will. They obviously have no care for criticism of their user experience.

    • We do not authorize redirects or pop-ups – for more information on what’s going on and how to report it: http://www.bolsinteractive.com/2016/09/25/techreport/

      • Thanks for your reply. It’s nice to see you actually care about this sort of thing. But I can’t see the page thru the slider ad. So to me this is on topic.

  • DJ860

He’d need a will of iron to lift that ridiculously oversized powerfist into the air.

    • bobrunnicles

      1) Forced perspective
      2) Power Armor

I think that covers it lol.

      • DJ860

Well yeh, maybe you’d get that view from that perspective if his arm was 10 foot long. From shoulder to finger, is nearly as long as his entire body.

But it’s hardly a big deal. Just struck me as comical, even for 40k.

  • bobrunnicles

Wasn’t the rumor that the first four issues were coming with free minis? That comic book isn’t a mini….

    • Ve Ly Pè

I thought, they said the first and the third one.

    • amaximus167

I just heard ‘free stuff,’ with no confirmation on what the stuff was.

    • DJ860

We’ve seen the leaked cover for November and it’s a free character for Total War: Warhammer. Hell, free gifts for the first 3 months is awesome, whatever they are.

      • bobrunnicles

        No argument here 🙂

  • I for one am happy that this isn’t a video of them flipping through the magazine. Much quicker for me to skim through to see the stuff I am interested in. 🙂

  • Alex Rowley

Got mine in the post yesterday, the imperial guard kits with cult upgrades are a good idea, and the new vehicles are cool too.
