Things are moving around on Legendary’s internet properties, and not everyone is happy about it.

The G&S community is far from pleases about this move – to put it politely. This is what’s going down…

On November 3rd, Legendary Digital Networks is launching Alpha, a new platform to bring together Geek & Sundry and Nerdist to create original, interactive programming that you won’t see anywhere else. You’ll be trying to make a getaway with some of your closest celebrity friends in Escape, hosted by our friend, Janet Varney; win some super sweet prizes on Majority Rules; and join the crew of an RPG space adventure on Vast, captained by comic book creator Jackson Lanzing. Not to mention, you’ll get early access to returning series, such as season 4 of TableTop and more. This is only the beginning to the awesome stuff to come when you sign up to be a member of Alpha.

At $4.99 a month, the new service offers both offline and online perks for users, including special Alpha members-only events, prizes, product discounts, and more. Alpha members will have 48-hours of early access to select episodes of some of your favorite Geek & Sundry and Nerdists shows such as Co-OptitudeThe Dan Cave hosted by Nerdist Senior Editor Dan CaseyBecause Science hosted by Nerdist science editor Kyle Hill, and more, which will be announced in the coming months.

Registration Opens October 3rd – Click For More Information

Most of the community feedback so far has been a mix of anger and confusion. The most common question answered: Critical Role will still be on Twitch VOD and on the regular site. Other shows will be behind a pay wall, or at least released to subscribers first. The new service will allow new seasons to be made without relying crowd funding campaigns… but it’s certainly pissed of a chunk of the fan base.

For those of you that have been watching videos from either site for the last 4 years – what’s your take on this?
