GW Mystery: Sculptor Burns the Midnight Oil

mystery-horz

Hmm, we have a detective mystery for you GW minis fans.  What do you think is being worked on here?

Dakka’s chikout has some keen eyes and dropped this on the community:

“I’ll drop this here since I’m not sure it merits its own thread. (we really need a kind of 40k catch all for all the little rumour snippits)
Tom Walton who worked on many 40k vehicles is active on twitter. He mentioned that has in the office doing overtime sculpting minis for an army he has never worked on before.
30 minutes of Google fu later I have it narrowed down to Aos (he does vehicles so unlikely) nids (organic so unlikely) orks or sisters. So new ork or sisters vehicles incoming then.”

A little detective work on Twitter verified the report Tom Walton@edgeblend:

Nice to see those chaps over at Nottingham burning the midnight oil to keep us all drowning in new plastic crack.

~So start up the speculation engines and what it may mean in the comments.

  • Painjunky

Is it a new dark elder unit or vehicle???

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

    • eMtoN

Hope so. I always thought DE was the only army that would elicit such pain…

      • Carey_Mahoney

        LOL!!!!!

  • Deej8404

has he worked on Adeptus Titanicus models? that would be where I’d put my money. SoB vehicles sounds too…. awesome

  • knightsanguis

Sisters of Battle? Heh, one can dream…

  • Insert_nickname_here

    Yes!!! New orks!

  • Simon Chatterley

I worked some extra hours last week but you don’t see the Internet going mad over it…..

    • Tshiva keln

Actually that’s where you’re wrong. There was an entire thread about it on bolter and chainsword.

      • Simon Chatterley

        About time as well 😉

        • euansmith

When I put in extra hours, it makes the International News #hailhydra

    • dave long island

      Lol…

  • zeno666

Its another space marine, different color this time.

And just as I thought. Notice his interests. I bet very few at GW actually play their own games.

    • euansmith

The Emperor’s Catheters; that’s what you get for being a successor chapter, and coming late to the game, when all the good names have already been taken.

      • Bran D

While the name does get them snickers from behind their backs…they are very good at controlling the flow of battle, directing it somewhere that is less embarrassing. Incontinence is their chaotic foe, and it is an endless war.

    • Ross Allan

      Well, that’s a bet you’d lose 🙂

      • ZeeLobby

You have insider knowledge? I know several years ago lunch time games were pretty sparse, while they used to be huge. I know the FW guys play a lot.

        • Ross Allan

Yeah. Used to work for GW going back to 2010. Lots of time spent at head office. Anyone involved in the Studio was an active gamer.

About the only GW employees that aren’t necessarily avid gamers are the kitchen staff and cleaners. Possibly some of the upper management,

    • jcdent

Who hasn’t worked on Marines some time or the other? No, this has to be something so ancient that neither Jeanstealer cult nor Sq-Demiurge players would expect.

      Sisters of Battle!

  • Goredja

Necron codex is sold out in english …

    • Many Codices are sold out in different languages. GW just dropped their chinese printer due to quality, they wanna switch to softback for older books and looking for a new printer for hardbacks / limited initial selling runs.

      • Carey_Mahoney

Interesting info. I wonder if they will move the printing out of China completely. Interesting…

        • Severius_Tolluck

Well my skitarri was printed in Dubai of all places!

    • Spacefrisian

Paperback Battle Sister codex is also sold out, cant find it anywhere 😛

  • SIA

    What about Admech?

  • euansmith

Gondorian Battle Wagon for the Hobbit game.

  • Coltcabunny

Stay classy BOLS. Dirtsheets gonna dirtsheet.

  • Steven Deleu

Steam punk dwarfs? Since you narrow it down to AoS, and they were talks about steam kind of dwarfs….

    • ZeeLobby

      That’s my bet.

      • Severius_Tolluck

Highly more likely than sisters, I bet the bin joke was simply that, at this point!

  • Serafus

Stormcast Eternals are totally getting Land Raiders… I mean Terrestrial Raiders

    • Emprah

Nah that will be “Terrestrial Rayders” . You know AoS units always have something miss-spelled in them. Typos are copyrightable, tally ho gw!

  • Old zogwort

    NECROMUNDA

  • Aezeal

    new steam tank

  • grim_dork

    Marbo, the Jeep.

  • Solotaire Confinement

    Squats?

  • MechBattler
  • boboblob

oh god please no sisters of battle. all these cry babies that want
new sisters of battle either represent a tiny minority or are those
groups of people that like babies cry for something and when they
finally get it they probably won’t even buy them or will go whining
about wanting something else. GW dont waste your money by listening to
these bozos asking for sisters of battle. good job on listening to the
people for the last year about all their concerns and acting on them but
don’t listen to these whiners.EDIT: orks need more attention
rather than sisters of battle. they should just throw sisters of battle
under the carpet like space dwarves. honestly, how many people are out
there that will actually buy a new sisters of battle army? many will say
they will buy but will they really do it when th

  • ColonelFazackerley

    SoB would be nice.

Prolly more Space Marine stuff. Some one-off thing. It will sell more. Though we weep for the unloved factions.

  • Alan Eskew

I just want to see Arbites get into the mix
