The Tabletop Spotlight is on Betrayal at House on the Hill – Widow’s Walk Expansion.

Just in time for Halloween, our buddies at Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy brought over the new expansion for Betrayal at House on the Hill – Widow’s Walk. It’s got 50 new terrifying stories to keep your gaming group up at night…or at least playing more:

If you’re not familiar with Betrayal at House on the Hill then the first thing you should do is go check that game out. It’s a tile based game for 3-6 players. Each player takes the role of a character who is investigating the mysterious house on the hill. Sometimes, it’s something as simple as wanting to use a phone to call a tow truck. Other reasons your characters are in the house can be a lot more sinister. But what sets this game apart is that someone ends up becoming the traitor to the rest of the group.

The traitor will end up with a separate mission that they are trying to complete before the game ends. The other players are trying to stop the traitor and survive…

Deeply rooted in classic Horror fiction, this game draws inspiration from just about pop-culture horror story out there. It was already a game packed with lots of replay value, but now the expansion has added 50 new haunts and a new floor to explore. The expansion has tapped 50 writers from all over the place. I won’t list them all here, but the list is pretty interesting. Notably it has Jerry Holkins from Penny-Arcade, Max Tempkin of Cards Against Humanity fame, Pendleton Ward the creator of Adventure Time, and a whole slew of other professional writers and game-industry creative types.

Side from the crazy amount of replay value this expansion adds, it also has new tokens and tiles as well – just in case you didn’t have enough of a reason to pick this one up. It’s the same quality and construction as the core game, which is to say that it’s good stuff. Overall, if you were a fan of the original and are looking for a great excuse to play it again, then go check out Widow’s Walk!
