Okay – here’s the Spoiler Free run down:

This massive tome has 6 chapters that are fully fleshed out with everything you’d need to run the adventure. We’re talking everything – It’s got an over-all plot that starts in chapter 1 and finishes it’s dramatic conclusion in chapter 6. It’s got Maps, NPCs, encounters, loot, GMing tips, and more – It even has suggested tips for how to handle non-combat AND combat encounters. It’s a self-contained adventure tome that has all the tools you need to run this entire adventure…Except for dice. And players. You’ve probably got that covered.

Aside from that, I love books like this. For several reasons, but the most apparent one is that it takes a lot of the guess work out for the GM. And it gives you break! Look, I don’t know if you’ve ever run a game but it takes a lot of prep work. Seriously, if you’re a player and you haven’t thanked your GM for running the game, you really should because I’m willing to bet they spend a lot of time writing and world building or creating NPCs or…well, doing everything you’ll find in this book. From scratch! That takes a lot of creative thinking. These Pre-constructed adventures let the GM get a break which everyone needs to avoid burnout.

If you collected the 6 pre-generated modules for this series you may be wondering if it’s worthing picking-up this book. The short answer is: YES! Why? Because it goes into even more detail that you didn’t have before. On top of that, it’s got some very useful appendices in the back to help you manage your game. Loot, monsters and NPC breakdowns and where to find them…it’s just better.

Overall, I think this is a fantastic purchase for a GM to make, or an amazing gift from a player to a GM. Seriously, think about gifting it to them, they will appreciate it – and you’ll probably get invited to run through it with them… GMs of all skill levels and types can use this information in this book to make their own games better. Really, it doesn’t matter if you’re running it “straight out of the book” or if you’re running parts of it as a “side quest” or if you’ve just taken the narrative out and transplanted it into your own world – that’s what these books are for! So go check out Curse of the Crimson Throne, in stores now!
