~Oh boy, no idea what the new Canoness looks like, but early indications are it will be available in very limited numbers. It looks like our Christmas present is Sororitas!

  • Dumbcow1

Why is it resin…..Like….Solid B effort, new model…but…just couldn’t get it in plastic?

    • Makes no sense to me, I’m sure a plastic one would sell well and likely be one of those minis that keeps being used for all manner of conversions.

    • Ross Allan

Possibly a FW one, in the same vein as the two Ltd Ed Terminators?

      • dcgamers

That or it is an old model they never put into sales

      • Perversor

on theory it’s a limited edition 5-2 per store based in classic John Blanche art

    • Byungwook Kim

Because it is the decades old metal canoness repack

      • Ross Allan

Then they’d just do it in metal.

        • E65

Because they don’t have any left in metal just failcrap.

          • Ross Allan

Apart from the BB Starplayers they did. And the others they still do in metal.

9/10 for sticking to calling it failcrap though. I mean, that’s edgy.

          • E65

          • rtheom

I think you meant “OW, THE EDGE”

          • ZeeLobby

Edgy but true. It was just god awful, lol. I love how they originally sold it by dipping things in hot water and moving the parts around. Pretty nifty, until I went through my 3rd box of mandrakes just trying to find ones without giant bubble holes in their bodies.

        • Moik

What’s “metal”? Is that some sort of new plastic resin?

      • E65

You worked it out while while others scratch their heads.

    • Arthfael

Possibly because its a redone old model, but also possibly because Sisters were redone a while ago, like, 5-6 years or something, but never released until now. Let’s hope the design is consistent with old ones but the quality up to recent standards. If this is the case, resin vs plastic becomes a very secondary issue.

      • Valeli

I’d be “happy” with good resin models if it’s just because it was redone fairly recently and not putout.

Finecast has a thousand and one problems, but GW has always been good about replacing the defective ones for me at least…. Would greatly prefer plastic, but yeah.

        • Arthfael

Yeah, finecast is a pain, but the models I have had were never beyond what a little bit of green stuff, a few cuts and some hot water could fix. Sure, it was a little bit annoying, but actually lessthan having to resculpt the soulstone on a solitaire because of course it broke off when I detached the bit from the sprue. I guess I have this generous, enthusiastic and somewhat chaotic to model building that results in me having to do as much afterwork on finecast models as on the flimsiest plastics.

    • Nwttp

Thought they figured out by now that no one wants their crappy quality resin

    • AnomanderRake

It isn’t going to be a new model. They’re going to finally cast the current metal one in resin.

If that’s what ‘new Sisters models’ actually meant I’m going to be very depressed.

      • Donald Lindsey

It actually is a new model per my rep…who had to go to someone else for confirmation.

        • AnomanderRake

…How long has it been since there’s been a new resin model? (I’m trying to find out but GW doesn’t have a filter for checking on their site and they’re trying to make it harder to figure out whether something’s resin or not (the only clue these days is at the bottom of the blurb where it recommends using superglue instead of plastic glue), but the newest resin model (that isn’t an update on a metal model) I can find is Belial from the 6e DE release almost four years ago.)

          • crcovar

100th US store opening Space Marine Captain was finecast. Apparently it was a pretty last minute decision to do a model to celebrate so they went with finecast because of quick turn arond.

    • Valeli

If it’s a resin redo of an existing one I’m going to be sad. If it’s a new one, I’m almost certainly grabbing it though.

I don’t need a new cannoneness, but money speaks, etc.

  • Kritarion

But what about the “Plastic Sisters of Battle?!” from the Magnus-Reveal video? I don´t like resin that much.

    • Alex Simmonds

They said”Plastic Sisters”!! not sisters of battle im afraid 🙁

      • Xicola76

He clearly says “Plastic Sisters of Battle” in the video, have another look

      • Emperor’s Champion

        Someone is a bad listener

        • kingcobra668

That’s assuming he actually watched it at all and isn’t just parroting someone else’s”opinion” he half read

          • memitchell

I half read your opinion, and get why you don’t like parrots.

      • amaximus167

Man, seriously? Did you watch the video? He said Sisters of Battle. It is very clear.

    • NNextremNN

Like other already pointed out they said Plastic Sisters of Battle the important part is that S at the end. This upcoming release is a Sister of Battle without S. It is a single character model maybe even limited.

    • ZeeLobby

Maybe GW was just trolling us after all.

      • memitchell

Psst…What the S is he talking about?

        • WhenDidVicesBecomeVirtues

Its a video where they show a guy in a waste bin that is used to dispose of secret models. He (a games workshop employee) goes in the trash and you hear him say “Hmph, plastic sisters of battle”. Many fans thought it was a hint of things to come while it may just be a joke that they threw the idea in the trash.

  • miteyheroes

    “Adeptus Sororitas Canoness Veridian”

Adepta Sororitas. Not Adeptus. Dammit, GW!

    • Spacefrisian

In the 41st millenium words have changed a bit, Adeptus is perfectly fine. Be happy some roman latin survived through all those years. 😛

      • euansmith

        That’s not “Latin”, that’s “High Gothic”! 😉

        • disqus_CktyL7rKWJ

yeah, and it’s “speess yiffs”, not “space wolves”, because this is low gothic and not english 😉

        • Simon Chatterley

Not the first time recently you’ve made me think of Monthy Python.

“The plural of Adeptus is what? Adepti…now write is 100 times or I’ll cut your balls off”

      • Valeli

Be happy we didn’t get the IG renaming thing.

    • Atharius

Wiktionary has Adepta listed as both the plural form of Adeptus and the feminine form of Adeptus so I guess it is interchangeable.

  • Sisters are not back! Unless you consider Being able to take a unit of 20 year old models as allies to another imperial army as back!

    • Valeli

Still holding out hope that we’re getting a new book, and not just the entry(entries) in the imperial agents book.

I’d even be ok waiting a bit more for a new book if it meant that it was lined up for the next edition, rather than being one of the last books of this edition.

  • Agent OfBolas

I’m worried … resin can be: Forge World, or resin cast of old miniatures… both solutions are not as that good.

    • pokemastercube .

but i know out of the 2 types of resin which i would preffer is used if it has to be in resin

  • bfmusashi

Huron: “Okay everyone pose! We didn’t fly all the way over here JUST to murder for the glory of the dark gods. This planet has excellent lighting and we need a new painting for the remembrance hall. Everyone take your helmets off, I want to see your faces, except you Steve, I told you if you made that face too long the dark gods would freeze it that way and look who’s right.”

    • Kritarion

“But Commaaaaaaander, I…” “Shut up, Belemar. No Krakgrenades for you today!”

  • Emprah

Resin is a horrible choice. It is just as horrible quality as Fine?lol?cast metal , but at least its not that heavy so it may take falls less drastically.

Still, not even close to GW plastic quality.

It could be that they first want to sell resin sisters and see if they are popular or not, and just go plastic if they are popular so that they don’t have to invest that much money in case the sisters are not popular.

    • Red_Five_Standing_By

They probably do not want to over invest in a single, small release model.

  • durendin

One resin model (likely a recast of the metal) does not an army release make!

  • 7idledays

According to my local store’s Rep, the Sisters model is a new one based on the cover of the 2nd Ed codex

  • Zack Seiders

Let me know when the space nuns are in actual plastic.

  • Huntard

It’s an extremely limited allocation resin model. I don’t think it’s gonna be burning the house down for a glory day of new SoB armies. Especially since they’re being shoehorned into this ‘Leftover Imperial Faction Concepts’ armybook.

  • Severius_Tolluck

Stupid bait click, once again they go omg sisters, when there is hardly a mention, one model does not make a whole bit of news. It sounds like a repack of the finecast canoness. If it is a new sculpt I may still bite, but strange it would be resin.
