HeroClix: Bring in Pym’s Tanks!

WizKids_HeroClix_Logo_Small

These tiny tanks pack a big punch.

Hank Pym found the size altering subatomic particles that created Ant-Man, Giant Man, and Scarlet Beatle. And now you can use them to your advantage on the tabletop with these exclusive tanks…

First, lets look at the smaller of the two, the Pym Pocket Tank. This is a very simple dial to take in – 1 click of life, with the only standard power of Toughness to worry about. But we need to take a closer look at it’s three traits before we dismiss it. First, we have the trait, Personal Craft: Pym, which states that a themed team may include the Pym Pocket Tank, and is still a themed team, as long as a character named Ant-Man, Giant-Man, or Hank Pym is on your force.

… the Pym Particle Tank, which follows the standard Vehicle ruleset, which you can read more in detail about on the character card pictured above. First, we’re going to look at the piloted Pym Particle Tank. This vehicle can carry up to 3 characters, and can be played at 150, 100, or 50 point values. Taking a look at its traits, we have the return of Personal Craft: Pym, which states that a themed team may include the Pym Particle Tank, and is still a themed team as long as a character named Ant-Man, Giant-Man, or Hank Pym is on your force.

I just read this plus an article on the T-34 in the movie. What I don’t understand is why they put American decals on a Soviet tank for the movie.

    • Jo Go

they changed the decals for the movie so i’m guessing they were just trying to make it look american. I know they had been looking at a couple of different tanks but this one was the easiest for them to get a hold of. Probably easier to just slap some american markings on it than have people wonder why Hank had a soviet tank at the height of the cold war.

    • Bill

My guess is that it all had to do with what kind of real working tank they could get. A T-34 was available, so they worked with that. I don’t know how many working M3 Stuarts are out there.

Because the vast majority of Americans aren’t tank buffs and have no idea what the difference is between a T-34 as you stated and an M3 Stuart as Bill just mentioned. A tank is a tank in our minds. It has treads and a cannon. Not much else is really important.
