The Tabletop Spotlight is on Citadels – a remastered edition of a classic!

Hey BoLS Readers – if you are a fan of the classic game Citadels we have some great news for you. Our friends at Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy brought over a new and improved version of the game:

This new boxed set has everything the previous game and expansion had plus some unique stuff. I really liked the new cards/art as well. The Character Cards are new and larger as well so they are a little easier to work with. This set brings the total number of characters up to 27 and they also have 30 unique districts to boot! With that much variety you can really customize the game to your preference.

This is still the same great game but now you’ve just got more options to play around with. One of the things I really liked in the new rule book are the suggested theme decks to play with. They have a specific set of characters and districts you can play with to help create a theme for your game. I thought it was a really nice touch. The core mechanics are the same so if you remember playing the base game you’ll have no issues playing with the new characters – just double check those abilities!

Overall, Citadels is a fantastic game to add to your collection. Even if you have a previous edition this new reboxing has enough upgrades to warrant picking it up. So if you’re looking for a great game for family game night or a no-cards-barred throw down with your regular gaming group then go pick-up up Citadels!

Plot, scheme, and deceive as you build fantastical cities in Citadels, Bruno Faidutti’s classic game of card drafting, intrigue, and cunning characters. In Citadels, two to eight players must shrewdly draft characters and use their abilities to create the best city possible. This edition includes all the content from the previous editions by Fantasy Flight Games, along with nine new characters and twelve new districts developed by the original designer. Updated graphic design and all-new art brings to life a vast kingdom rich in diversity and filled with possibilities.
