Tzeentch Start Collecting

“Spontaneous Destruction: In each of your hero phases, pick either the Herald of Tzeentch or another unit from this battalion within 9″ of them; you can choose either [to] cast one additional spell with that unit [in the heroes] phase or make a shooting attack with […] the models in that unit as if it were the shooting phase.”

Okay, that’s really good for this battalion! Why? Well let’s take a look at all the warscrolls for those units:

Burning Chariot of Tzeentch Rules

Right off the bat you can see how deadly that missile attack can be. 6 shots that each do D3 damage is nothing to sneeze at! And getting to shoot twice at turn due to the ability seems pretty solid!

Pink Horrors of Tzeentch Rules

The Pink horrors are another viable option. If it’s a large unit of 20, you’re hitting on 3+ which is a nice. This unit could generate quite a few wounds just from their shooting attack alone. Oh and don’t forget that Pink Horrors are ALSO wizards, too. Decisions, decisions…

Flamer of Tzeentch Rules

The Flamers of Tzeentch might be the “best” option depending on how big your unit is (and how many points it is vs a unit of Burning Chariots of Tzeentch). Each flamer is pumping out 3 shots and each shot as a potential D3 damage. They have a respectable move speed and a decent range too – I’d keep an eye out for a big unit of these within shooting distance if my opponent was running this Battalion.

As always, you can check out the unit rules on Games Workshop’s website. If you want to pick up this Start Collecting! Daemons of Tzeentch box keep an eye out for it this weekend when it arrives for sale!

Start Collecting! Daemons of Tzeentch $85

The Changer of Ways, the Master of Fortune, the Great Conspirator and the Architect of Fate – these are just some of the names of Tzeentch. A brother god to Nurgle, Khorne and Slaanesh, and often an ally of the Horned Rat, he is the undisputed master of the arcane arts. His daemonic followers swarm over the battlefields in scintillating glory, searing the land with coruscating flames of change.

This is a great-value box set that gives you an immediate collection of fantastic Daemons of Tzeentch miniatures, which you can assemble and use right away in games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000! You’ll receive a Burning Chariot of Tzeentch (with optional Herald of Tzeentch on foot), 3 Flamers of Tzeentch, 3 Screamers of Tzeentch and 10 Pink Horrors, allowing you to collect, assemble and play with your new miniatures right away!

Warpflame. ALL the WARPFLAME!

Right, but if the battalion doesn’t have a points cost (which the Start Collecting ones don’t), then it can’t even be used in a Pitched Battle.

in official tournament, it can be a problem, but in a pitched battle with your friend, just allocate it the number of point that feel correct (usually around 20-40) and go have fun

It’s a bit of an oversight. Now that GW started putting points costs in the battletomes maybe we can expect these battalions to start being printed with them in the near future.

I’ll still be picking up this set. Even without the special rules this battalion is solid for AoS. The only unit I might not field constantly are the screamers.

I wish GW would give those deamons battalion (nurgle AND tzeentch) rules to be played in 40k too 🙁
