triumvirate header

The minis are out in the wild and they have confirmed rules.  Take a look at what the Eldar’s new god is bringing!

These are all over the place now and from the instructions in the Eldar Triumvirate boxed set.

yvraine-1 yvraine-minis-rules

The Emissary… I really like how her psychic mastery level can go up if psykers die around her. Nice touch.

visarch-1

visarch-minis-rulesThe Warrior – he will keep his love safe at all costs.  Perhaps the first bit of romance to warrant rules in the grimdark – how Aeldarish…

yncarne-1 yncarne-minis-rules

The Messiah: Interesting form of Deep-Strike.  You could place the Yncarne in the enemy’s turn when a unit (any) dies, then have it right in the middle of the fight ready to go when the Aeldari turn starts!

~The Triumvirate hits the shelves tomorrow. Are you ready?

  • Old zogwort

So for those 55 points your keeper of secrets gets:
+1 BS +1LD, fleshbane, armour bane, eth warrior, fnp and those new double assault rules. Nice

    • Djbz

      Keeper of secrets is 170.
      So it’s 105pts
Wait didn’t take in account psyker levels .

      Nevermind

  • Ak318

Still think Vlad and Issebella do the rules based romance better XD

    • Kevin Maloney

Please. Zandrekh and Obyron is a romance that spans the eons.

  • Nyyppä

Wow. Something eldar that is not a win button.

    • kingcobra668

      You’re hilarious!

      • Nyyppä

Oh, you think these are win buttons?

        • Eldar are Chaos now

They kinda are when in a ynnari army

          • Nyyppä

Roger that. It’s not like I’d care much. Unless 8th changes the game to a significantly more balanced version of what it is now there’s no reason to start playing again at least until 9th comes.

  • Dr.Clock

Just call me ‘God of Space Vampire Elves’…

    • lorieth

I am the avatar of Space Vampire Elves’ Living Triumph Eternal; you may call me SVELTE.

  • Charon

GW point costs at its finest.
I still try to figure out what the hell is worth 150 points on a model without invul and T3 when Yvraine is the better fighter gets an invul and psi powers with extra dice on top of it.

    • Randy Randalman

He’s a meatshield for her with EW and reliable regeneration. Plus with the Strength from Death rule.

    • Hell Fish

You can let him tank the hits for a large squad. When you lose a wound, you Look Out Sir until he is healed up again, and repeat, essentially generating a ton of free wounds with a 3+. The only way to take him down for good is killing his entire squad and him like 3 times, all in one turn.
So either you pump a ton of firepower into a 150 point model, or you ignore him and he is gonna start slicing&dicing.

      • Charon

        Yvraine can do the same.

        • kingcobra668

          Then use her

          • Charon

That was not the question. The question is what makes GW think he is worth 150 points.
A Khorne Lord on Juggernaut with invul is 135 points.

    • J Mad

He is good with a unit, I’m sure thats the point of him is to not be a solo character, personally for 150pts thats really good for a melee eldar character.

      • Charon

What exactly is good with him?
He is not a great melee character in his point range (not even for eldar)

        • Henry Blake

Strength 5 ap2 with a minimum of 5 attacks on the charge at initiative 7 and ws 7 is pretty powerful to be honest.

          • Charon

not for 150 points, no grenades and 6″ movement.

    • Ravingbantha

We also don’t know what the new Psychic powers are and how they will effect the new units.

      • Charon

We already know the psychic discipline and it is pretty solid.

    • Jeremy Larson

S5, AP2 at I7, leadership shenanigans, EW and a stupid-easy way to get wounds back. If he had an invul he’d be broken. As is he’s just nasty but requires a brain to get the most out of him.

      • Charon

T3, walking. The lack of mobility alone is a big minus.
        No grenades.
A Khorne lord on Juggernaut with invul is 135 points.

  • Painjunky

    Meh. Way to many points.
Daemon is ok but same pts as a wraithknight that is clearly superior.
    Glad i didn’t pre-order these guys.

  • kingcobra668

Special Characters should never be points efficient.

    • Charon

Correct because what makes them special is beeing worse than ordinary facless commanders, right?

  • Chaosrex

When Eldars get better Demons rules then Demons of Chaos…fuck logic…

  • Paul Applebaum

Wish they would have bumped Celestine’s sword to AP2 instead of keeping it at AP3 like Visarch’s.

  • jeff white

Actually, I am beginning to appreciate these models more. They are very boutique niche use only for special times and tales, for the lulz, and not for tourneys and waac deck-building at all.

Still, to ‘advance’ the story of 40k (as a whole) with boutiqueish niche character release and sort of silly narrow context backstories is well… maybe not what I would have done, but I can begin to see how this is supposed to play out in the minds of the GW marketing geniuses…

  • Liberame

    No grenades anywhere

    • Painjunky

      WTF GW???
