Ynnead

The Triumvirate of Ynnead is here – Come take a look at these fantastic new plastic kits!

The Tabletop Spotlight is on The Triumvirate of Ynnead! Our friends at Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy brought over these new Aeldari models and they are just phenomenal plastics:

This box contains all three members of the Triumvirate of Ynnead: The Yncarne, Yvraine, and The Visarch. Each model looks really impressive in their own right so lets talk about each one.

Visarch yneead

The Visarch is probably going to be the most overshadowed compared to the other two, which is a bit of a shame. That’s because his armor is actually really detailed. It’s not plain like most Eldar body armor – it’s more ornate and it’s a marriage of both Dark Eldar and Eldar motifs. For example, he’s wearing a bunch of Spirit Stones all over his person. His Blade is very “Eldar” looking and so are the two “banner poles” he has on his back. However, when you look at this armor, it’s also very pointy and looks much like the Dark Eldar Incubi.

Maybe it’s just me, but his armor also reminds me of the armor Gary Oldman wore in the movie Bram Stoker’s Dracula back in 1992. It’s ornate and crimson…so maybe it’s more of the paint job than anything else.

Yvraine Ynnead

Yvraine is a model that reminds me of a wedding. Or maybe an “Olde Tyme” dance. Her dress is really impressive and totally impractical for combat – but hey, this is the Grim-Dark and she’s keeping it classy. Her body suit also reminds me a bit of Hellraiser and as a person who as walked both the Eldar and Dark Eldar paths, it kind of makes sense. I also really like how they made her blade look different and more Dark Eldar in a way. At the same time, she certainly has that same joint Eldar/Dark Eldar motif going as well with the abundance of the Spirit Stones. She certainly has a “classy, yet deadly” look going on.

Yncarne Ynnead

The Yncarne is probably one of the most technically impressive models Games Workshop has produced. If you watched the Designer’s video, you’d know that the wraithbone seal the Avatar is floating on was designed as a complete 3D model and then digitally broken apart and embedded in with the swirl. And speaking of the swirl, I’m really impressed that the body of the model is just floating freely in the middle of the base. Sure they connected it using the” hair and the swirl,” but the fact that it has that illusion of “floating” is what’s so cool about it.

This is going to be one of those kits that master hobbyists are going to have a field day with. I’m looking forward to seeing the results of what the community will do with these 3 models. The Triumvirate of Ynnead is out now so if you want to take a crack at some amazing looking models go pick up your copy today!

Though the chosen of Ynnead are extremely dangerous in their own right, when they marshal their strength as one they have the power to alter the fate of the galaxy. Striding majestically at the front comes Yvraine, high priestess of the Whispering God; by her side is the Visarch; and hovering above like a macabre angel is the Yncarne. Though these three are surrounded by an air of morbid power, they represent the Aeldari race’s greatest hope for a dramatic rebirth.

This box contains the Triumvirate of Ynnead, 3 miniatures who can be used to field the eponymous formation from The Gathering Storm: Fracture of Biel-Tan.

Has the savior of the Eldar arrived? It’s still unclear – but at least the models look cool!
