Everyone has been talking about the main plot of Gathering Storm, while avoiding some BIG hints GW placed in plain sight.

Fall of Cadia and Fracture of Biel-Tan are out with rise of the Primarch imminent. We have all talked endlessly about the main plot of the Gathering Storm series. Big stuff is happening like Cadia falling, Ynnead rising and a Primarch reborn.

But GW loves to place lots of little “theme stories” in their books that set the tone of things and quite often to foreshadow what is still to come.  Today I want to take a handful of these “hidden hints” and put them out there for us all to chew on:

Fall of Cadia

The Prison world of St. Joseman’s Hope in the Cadia system has bene overrun by prisoners, and the Arbites overrun. The survivors suggest Exterminatus may be needed to wipe the taint of chaos from the world.

On the Eldar Crone World of Belial IV within the Eye of Terror, Dark Eldar and Word Bearers fight over a relic unearthed by a doomed Ad-Mech explorator.

The Imperial flagship Undying Glory has been lost with all hands due to a contagion of Nurgle that swept through it’s crew. The Terminus Est arrived later to take on a harvest of the horrors that lurched within it’s halls.

Many Kasrs on Cadia and orbital platforms were overrun with Alpha Legion infiltrators and waves of cultists.

Half the psykers on Thracian Primarus have died while reporting a giant Maw in the Void that is blotting out the stars around the system.  Warp travel is impossible and the world’s population is in revolt.

Fracture of Biel-Tan

The Damocles Gulf has been set entirely ablaze due to the events of the Imperial attack on Mu’galath Bay. These celestial infernos have unexpectedly spawned giant warp storms that are consuming any fleets that enter the region (including Tau ones)

The first Genestealer Cult has been located on Holy Terra.

Six Imperial guard regiments and every every living thing from a cluster of planets connected to the Eldar webway have vanished leaving only idling equipment in their wake. The only clue to their fate was a symbol of a steel serpent found pinned via dagger to the forehead of the Imperial Governor.

An immense Ork fleet under Kaptin Baddruk and a wounded void-whale of immense size is tearing it’s way through the Alavatus Sector on a direct path to Catachan.

Space surrounding the Prospero System is filling with fractal crystaline structures. All Imperial ships which approach are overrun with Tzeentchian daemons and trapped within the ever growing web.

Ulthwe Strike forces of Black Guardians are appearing in numbers in and around the Eye of Terror, lending aid to Imperial forces set upon by forces of Chaos. They appear out of nowhere and vanish as soon as the hostilities cease.

The hive cities of Extremis Six have been leveled by Traitor titan legions accompanying the Emperor’s Children and Lucius the Eternal. All IG forces ceased contact after reporting the sighting of a gigantic serpent bodied creature.

The Forge World Glenescrede Raptus has exploded. In it’s place is a sentient “daemon sun” detectable only by psykers. It is the size of a red giant, and is moving at speed towards Holy Terra.

Rise of the Primarch

We will see…

~ It’s sounding like GW is setting up a MAJOR showdown on Terra in the future. What do you think they are up to?
