Circle Orboros: Kaya the WildHeart

Circle has it’s first cavalry caster and she is a beastmaster. Let’s take a closer look.

Who is She?

Kaya 3 is a warlock for Circle Orboros. This third incarnation of Kaya might be the best yet. She stole synergy from Bradigus and has a some other great spells. She can really make her beast effective and she is not too shabby herself. She has a decent amount of beast battlegroup points at 27 points.

What does Kaya the Wildheart Do?

Kaya3 is only speed 7 for riding a wolf but, she does get the cavalry rules. For a large base caster she has decent Defense15 and ARM16. Should keep her somewhat safe from small arms fire.

Kaya3 is armed with a RNG2 POW12 weapon and her mount is also the same POW12.

She isn’t really a spell slinger with only fury 6.

Reposition 3″ is on everything in her battlegroup. This doesn’t work on the world wrath though.

Kaya3’s Spells:

  • Blood Spiller: A RNG10 POW12 that lets beasts charge/slam for free. This can ensure your heavy finishes the job.
  • Fog of War: Stalkers can now stealth easily while in Kaya’s control area. Remeber, enemy models get the benefit too in case you are trying to shoot/magic them.
  • Soothing Song: Living warbeasts can have 1 fury removed from them. Costs 1. Kaya’s battlegroup is going to be pretty heft usually so this is a good fury management tool.
  • Synergy: Probably the most broken spell to give circle. There was a reason Bradigus was limited to constructs because giving the entire circle stable bonuses like this make them hit incredibly hard. A Primal stalker has a decent shot at killing even a collosal with full synergy stacks, let alone a caster.

Feat: Moonshadow
Another ignore everything feat similar to Una2. Models in Kaya’s control gain +2 defense, ignore free strikes, and can advance through enemy models similar to incorporeal.

This feat is very powerful but, it still does have a line of sight limitation. Most warpwolves are going to be sitting at DEF16. Throw in some shenanigans like a wrong eye and snapjaw and you are going to be seeing really hard to hit beasts.

Kaya3 Lists:

Kaya synergies with hard hitting beasts as well as high defense models. Her fog of war and feat Moonshadow can keep units safe from retaliation. Her beasts can hit extremely hard with primal animus and can get to dirty spots with the feat.

This list uses the high defense and hit and run tactics to keep models alive and clear out waves of models.

Revenant’s final thought:

Kaya the Wildheart is shennanigans all the way. From the ability to kill a collosal, or just charge through a line of infantry into a caster with a POW21 MAT9 beast is pretty crazy.

Definetely a strong circle caster

Grade: A

Circle’s first Cavalry caster? What about Morvanna 2 from 3 years ago?

  • ANevskyUSA

Why does her wolf have an opposable thumb, and why is it feeling her up?

    • bfmusashi

It’s a pureblood warpwolf, the dudebroest warpwolf. In Morvanna’s art one of them is posing like it’s a beer ad.

    • Severius_Tolluck

Fan art… Can’t be Press, that staff is realistic and diameter is less the girth of her thigh.

    • amaximus167

Maybe they’re trying to capitalize on all the fans of Beauty and the Beast that visit BoLS?

      • ANevskyUSA

For some reason, that makes it seem even weirder.

I am really liking that army list. To the point that I might just get it.
