Latest word from the web says the nastiest Imperial titan order is well into production – the dread psi-titans.

For decades one of the biggest mysteries of the Grimdark was the Ordo Sinister. They are the users of the dread Psi-titans of the Collegio Titanicus, and just recently GW gave us a LOT more detail on them.

Psi-Titans

Psi-Titans are a specialized and feared class of Titan used by the Imperium‘s Collegia Titanica and most notably by the Ordo Sinister.

In place of standard Titan configuration, a Psi-Titan is equipped with highly forbidden Dark Age of Technology-era technology known as the Ciricrux Anima. The Titan is manned by a damned Psykers surgically bound to the cockpit and locked in place against its will. They are in effect slaved to the Blank Perceptor-Intendant, which serves as the Princeps of a Psi-Titan. This unique setup allows a Psi-Titan to project psychic phenomena on a truly gargantuan scale. A Psi-Titan can project waves of abject fear, psychokinesis, biomantic leeching of life, and even temporal distortion.

However the most feared and dreaded ability of a Psi-Titan comes from its Sinistramanus Tenebrae, also known as a Psi-Cannon. This device allows it to focus the psychic antipathy of the bounded psykers, creature a massive Warp breach similar to a Vortex Weapon.

The only encountered type of Psi-Titan are modified Warlords known as the Warlord Sinister class. However other types of Psi-Titans are speculated to exist.

You will remember that Forge World also put out some 40K stats for Imperial Psychic titans in INFERNO, so it looks like one way or the other we’re going to learn all about these guys. Here’s the stats of one of their weapons: The Sisnistramanus Tenebrae. Daemons beware!

Well latest word from Titan Owners Club says the minis are coming along.

With the advent of the Psi-Titan rules, one question came up over and over again: are we getting special items to create these weapons and looks?  Today, we bring you the response Forge World has given us on if they will indeed create specific items for the Psi-Titans and when we can expect standard Warlord weapons.  Right now, the Ordo Sinister Titans use the standard head and Belicosa Volcano Cannon but hidden in the imagery by obscurement to make the gun look dark and different.

Here’s what Forge World had to say to us:

“Thanks for contacting us. We know that our studio are working on some specific parts for the Ordo-Sinister Warlord but at the moment we don’t have a time frame for when they will be released unfortunately. This is also the case with more model options for the Warlord Titan in general as there are certainly other options to explore but we have no details at the moment, sorry.”

So we have an official company answer:

  • The Ordo Sinister is in development.
  • It will take hte form of add-on pieces for the Warlord titan.
  • There are other Warlord parts unrelated to the Ordo Sinister that GW wishes to explore.
  • No timeframe is given.

I can’t wait get these big nasties onto the tabletop. Now they need to get on the Eldar Warlock titan…

~So seriously, do you think it’s worth GW’s time to keep cranking out really high end kits like these? Would you pick one up?
