Games Workshop: Citadel War-ter

Friends, this invaluable new painting product will help make anything perfect.

Just making sure this little gem of a painting product doesn’t slip by unnoticed by everyone. It’s honestly one of the best new products I’ve come across, and you can bet that I’ll be sure to pick up some of this new product as soon as GW releases it. My guess is GenCon. I couldn’t believe how quickly and effectively it worked–and I don’t think you will either.

But that’s why we’re sharing it with you today.

If this can help get Ulthuan Grey over Chaos Black, what other kinds of impossible things do you think this new product can help accomplish? Maybe it will finally make those nonnonmetallic metals look more realistic. Or let an army look decent painted up in five different base colors. There is literally no end to the possibilities…

What’s your favorite “painting product/technique?”

  • Jay Shepherd

    Seems legit, given their past.

    • euansmith

Regular water is H2O; but Citadel War-ter is O-HO.

      • EnTyme

        It’s H2.0, if you will.

  • Simon Chatterley

    Well this was funny yesterday….

  • Krizzab

the throwing citadel dices manual is better, WAY better.

    • Karru

Still the best product GW has ever released.

  • wait. I thought Armaggeddon Shadow war being a limited release was their april fools joke ??

    I’m sorely disappointed.

    • Talos2

Am I wrong in remembering that bloodbowl sold out initially too? I’m not sure we’ve not read too much into those sold out signs

      • Son_of_Corax_XIX

Blood bow never sold out but this has

        • Severius_Tolluck

Well the limited release items did

          • Son_of_Corax_XIX

Thats not Blood Bowl though is it? Two the whole point of limited run items is for them to sell out

  • PiotrekEtoo

Before watching the video my initial thought was that GW relased some kind of water-effect type of thing

    • Erber

My initial thought was that it would be something to create battle damage with. War-Ter sounds a lot like war tear so that’s where my mind went… still after the initial disappointment it is pretty funny 😛

Regardless of this joke, I must say: Duncan’s videos are awesome. Yes, I recently discovered them because I’ve been living under a rock (also because I don’t constantly follow GW news and videos).

I like that he uses regular brushes (instead of airbrushes, which I won’t own for various logistical reasons), that his techniques are relatively simple, and that they produce quite spectacular results.

Also, I like that his tutorials are free.

Other YouTube tutorials that I like: the gal from “Wargames, Soldiers & Strategy” (I forget her name). I like how she gives tips on mistakes beginners tend to commit. Definitely worth following her videos.

    • TenDM

They’re very good because you can pick out any tutorial and do what it’s teaching without needing to watch anything else. They don’t get too advanced either. They teach you how to do a very nice Magnus the Red instead assuming you want a Golden Demon Magnus the Red.

  • Xodis

I still miss the ‘Eavy Metal Citadel Air brush.

    • I still have two of them. Pleasingly cheap if you don’t want an airbrush and good for quick basecoating, but little else.

      • Xodis

I meant the aprils fool one that allowed people to add multiple colors to the brush so your models look like the ones from the “Eavy Metal team lol

        • Roman Himmelhan

that six-gun airbrush? yeah, that was a classic

  • Marcus Langdale

    April Fools, hopefully

    • Champildhir

The fact that you say “hopefully” makes the name April “FOOLS” quite appropriate…

      • Well, this *is* GW we’re talking about. Charging $8.50 for a 150ml bottle of tap water would NOT be the most ridiculous thing they’ve ever done.

        • Champildhir

Tell me then, WHAT would be more ridiculous than that?

  • cudgel

This can go next to their 1,000 dollar War-blade (hobby knife).

  • kloosterboer

Sold out. Best of luck on ebay.

  • Champildhir

And I have seen some people on Facebook raging and whining because GW wants to get their money in any way, recommending to get any kind of tap water. April FOOLS is a really appropriate name for some…

  • zeno666

    Hah….
