Hey Guys,

This game gives us a TON more to do with the figures we love by taking us all the way back to just about 2nd edition Warhammer 40k.  Shadow War is part action movie, part role-playing game and 100% all skirmish based combat.

The interesting thing here with these ‘throw back’ rules is that things like the weapons and armor save interactions sounds a lot like what the GW design studio revealed to us recently on the last show and at the Adepticon preview.

We blend our talk about this exciting release with our hopes for the future of 40k.   We are extremely optimistic about any changes coming our way.   Games like Shadow War gives us a chance to stop and smell the roses a bit and appreciate what we have right now.  This game is being heavily supported by the Warhammer Community page.  If you haven’t already it is worth checking it out.

While I don’t think this is going to be 8th edition – the weapons and armor save modifiers are something we KNOW we are going to see.  This is going to make the world a lot more dangerous to the super units/super characters out there.  What sort of world is it going to be when Riptides can be killed by Lasguns?    What if Rhinos get wounds in this brave new world and they can be killed by Bolters?  While we do try to make this show about Shadowar it is difficult to hold back our enthusiasm for the future.

Please remember the Gulf Coast Wargaming Alliance Grand Tournament, June 3rd-4th 2017. These are a great group of guys. We’re gonna be there!

The Finishing Moves segment is sponsored by Frontline Gaming. They just launched their new robot themed table mats and terrain. These look amazing together. Please check them out, even if you already have a game mat. Their new styles are very impressive.

Today’s finishing moves segment is a brief reminder to remember all the tricks and don’t give up…  You know some of this magic only takes a few more minutes of your time – do it while you are still sitting in the painting chair.  You will thank yourself later.

FTN mostly focuses on Warhammer 40k, but again you will see in the first few episodes we take a severe deep dive into nerdom. These have been a blast to record and I hope they help pass the time for you.
