There’s a new issue of Dragon+ out, and it’s endeavoring to add depth to your game…
First though, let’s talk about the cover. I don’t want to hear a peep of negativity–that is some amazing artwork. Talk about mixed media, that whole design is pretty inspired. Some might even say it’s a pretty sweet cover.
Anyway, enough about that. This issue of Dragon+ talks a lot about adventuring. You coudl also think of this as the Tales from the Yawning Portal issue, because a centerpiece of the magazine is a piece of fiction and an interview or art gallery or the like associated with each of the seven dungeons from that book. You’ll also find a look at D&D Beyond and some of the other digital products Wizards has cooking.
On with the show:
What’s new in Issue 13:
We hear from the classic creators of The Sunless Citadel and Forge of Fury, learn how to survive the perils of a megadungeon like Dead in Thay, and find out how modern artists have reinterpreted timeless scenarios like White Plume Mountain for a new generation.
Elsewhere, Dani Hartel reveals the secrets of making our D&D cover, Beamdog producer Phillip Daigle talks about the remaking of the revered Planescape: Torment, we quiz the creators of the new digital toolset D&D Beyond, and Shannon Appelcline presents a history of the D&D CRPG.
There’s Trouble in Waterdeep, a free adventure from the Best of the DMs Guild, new virtual reality title Dungeon Chess, and Neverwinter’s developers reveal their tales of epic failed rolls. All this plus a host of regulars like Unearthed Arcana, a fresh cartoon from Jason Thompson, and much more!
