Black Library

Space Marine Legends – Azrael $19 (Hardback)

The Dark Angels Chapter sprang from the First Legion of Space Marines to fight and die at the Emperor’s side. But over ten thousand years, even the most staunchly loyal warriors of the Imperium can fall from grace, and the Dark Angels guard their own murky secrets most carefully – only Supreme Grand Master Azrael knows them all. A legend among Space Marines, he has fought for centuries and ever at the forefront of battle. Now, with the enigmatically alien eldar as his uneasy and unlikely allies, he must tread the fine line once more between the pursuit of victory, and keeping the Chapter’s past safely buried…

~So what have you thought of the Kharadron Overlords release?

  • spla5hmummy

Awesome minis these. I’m not playing AoS currently but I can see these becoming an option if I ever take it up.

    • Parthis

They’re a lot of fun on the table top too. A nice, varied play style… and the airships are just ace.

    • orionburn

These guys will pull me into AoS. Had planned on reviving my Lizardmen but these minis are just too fantastic. Have a 40k backlog as it is but maybe when they get a Start Collecting box out I’ll dive in.

    • Jack Biddo

I made the mistake of buying one frigate, because I thought it looked like a cool model to build, now I’m looking at a table full of Overlords primed blue

      • CPENinja

Same boat – my 9th AoS army now (since I can literally just field a small amount of each to enjoy playing). I bought one frigate, and then proceeded to buy all the rest.

  • Nevermind

    a starterbox would be nice

    • Randy Randalman

There are always Start Collecting boxes for new armies, but they never release with the core product line. So you can say it “would be” nice, almost past-tense as though they won’t make one, or ran out of time to make one. But it will be here, just like they have been for every single army release for the last two years.

    • EnTyme

It wouldn’t make financial sense to release an SC box during faction launch. Why buy a Frigate for $80 when you could get a Frigate with 10 Arkanauts and a Navigator (just an example. Don’t know that this will actually be the SC box) for $85? Instead, you let the initial hype sell models for a few months and then use a Start Collecting box to boost sales after that hype dies down. I’m expecting to see SC boxes for the newer armies like Tzeentch Arkanites and Kharadron Overlords as well as maybe Genestealer Cults probably mid-summer and hopefully battleforce boxes when the holidays roll around.

*Inserts obligatory rant about prices not being in British £ etc,*

Seriously. If they’re grabbing these from somewhere they could at least put up guesswork prices for non American users.

    • Jasko

If you only want guesswork, might I introduce you to a new tool called “”? Simply type in “40 dollars in pounds”, you’d be amazed what is possible with today’s technology.

      • Nik Dixon

Except that international prices aren’t really based on exchange rates.

        • orionburn

Exactly. Currency calculators work if you’re in the States buying something from Forge World, but the core GW range doesn’t work that way. That being said if they’ve released the US pricing the UK pricing is out floating around out there somewhere.

        • ZeeLobby

I think “guesswork” was the key word here. Im not sure how they’d be able to come up with the magical number in GW’s head, especially since their rate isn’t consistent.

    • Chaoschrist

I guess I could complain about euro prices as well then.

I just assume dollar price is euro price; if it’s cheaper, I’m lucky. I can’t recall a time where the dollar price for a GW product was higher than the euro price.

That said; assume those riggers cost 40 pounds

    • Diewire

Just swith GW-Store to US, search for a Product with the same price. Then switch back to your country and voila you have your local price.
Worked for EU the last month.

  • James Mcclennan

there Sky wardens not the skyriggers.
    just a little typo

    • Parthis

I think the box may be called Skyriggers, as the kit builds Skywardens as well as Endrinriggers.

But yeah it’s probably a typo.

    • Shinnentai

I don’t want to be “that guy”, but I’m wondering if you pointing out a typo opens the door to me pointing out your own typo.

I’ll have to consult my grammar-nazi legal team o.o

    • Alpharius

Skyriggers is the general name for the ballon pack guys, so I think that’s correct. It’s even in the battleltome.

  • Shinnentai

Balloon dwarves with gatling guns ^__^.

Unfortunately I gave in to temptation with the Arkanaut company I bought and I’ve already converted most of them to Squats 😀

So balloon dwarves will have to wait until I get around to doing a proper Kharadon army. Endrinmaster looks good for a Squat engineer conversion though.

    • memitchell

I bought Squatkanauts, too. How are you converting them?

      • Shinnentai

Just simple weapon swaps – I’ve used some components from the Heresy boxed games. The chainswords from Prospero work really well since they’re shorter than usual ^^.

Here’s a quick & dirty shot of what I have so far – not much paint on them yet as I’m waiting for an order :

        • memitchell

You sick Bastard! You’ve defiled not one but TWO game systems!

I swear, it didn’t even occur to me to rearm with 40K weapons. I have the means (er, parts). Now, I have the proof of concept. Thanks, dude! (Oh, sorry about the “Bastard” thing).

  • ZeeLobby

Still not sure I’ll play AoS. Especially now that 40k is AoS in space, but I’ll pick up some of these and shove them somewhere, haha. I think these will be automatons in our Frostgrave campaign or something.
