There is no better time to start playing a game than when a new edition hits. GW needs to rush some new boxes out to fill some gaps.

For a couple years now, GW has been pushing the fantastic Start Collecting boxed sets. These $85 boxes offer the small core of a new army at a decent discount. They are perfectly priced to easily get your new faction off the ground, or as a nice gift that won’t break the bank.

Here’s just a few for example:

These are great but with 8th Edition here TODAY – GW really needs to kick out one of these every faction in the game. The Start Collecting boxes are somewhat uneven and have some bizarre gaps in their range.  Here’s just a few armies that are missing and what I would put in them:

Genestealer Cult – Throw in a bunch of hybrids, a Magus and one Goliath.

Dark Angels – Tac Squad, Ravenwing bike squad, and an officer. Add a disco speeder if you’re feeling charitable.

Grey Knights – 10 marines, 5 Paladins and an officer.

Harlequins – 10 Harlequins, 2 Skyweavers, Shadowseer.

Daemons of Slaanesh – 12 Daemonettes, 5 Seekers, 1 Seeker Chariot, plus a Herald.

Cult Mechanicus  – 3 Kataphron Destroyers, 2 Castellan robots, 1 Tech Priest Dominus

Talons of the Emperor – 5 Custodes, 5 Sisters of Silence, 4 Imperial Assassins

Primaris MarinesWe’re going to be waiting a while on these…

~ Did I miss any? Would you start any of these factions with a $85 box available? I’d be all over a Harley Start collecting box!
