A lot of puzzle pieces are coming together – pointing to a new Astartes book coming soon.

It’s been a crazy week and 8th Edition is 2 days away.  Here’s some puzzle pieces that make BoLS think a new Space Marine codex is coming fast on the heels of the 8th Edition rollout.

  • GW Always rolls out a new Space Marine codex right after a new edition launch.
  • Reports are coming in of 8th Edition rules for some Space Marine Space Marine Vehicles that have never seen wide release – in particular the Rhino Primaris and the Land Raider Excelsior. These two were previously available only at Warhammer World.

  • There are no known rules reported for the new Redemptor Dreadnought.  GW doesn’t normally unveil models until they are quite close to release.

  • Reports are coming in saying the initial Space Marine unit book includes ZERO options for Primaris Marines to embark in any known vehicles. This would imply future transport options specifically for them.

I have a feeling a new Space Marine codex is coming with the initial wave of Primaris Marine kits to make them a viable standalone force – perhaps modeled on the initial rollout of the Stormcast Eternals.

~ Would you rather field a mixed army of standard and Primaris marines, or go purely Primaris?
