BREAKING: Corvus Belli Aresteia Latest

An all new boardgame spinoff of Infinity is coming.  Take a look at even more characters!

via Wikipedia:

“An aristeia or aristia (/ærˈst.ə/; Ancient Greek: ἀριστεία, IPA: [aristěːaː], “excellence”) is a scene in the dramatic conventions of epic poetry as in the Iliad, where a hero in battle has his finest moments (aristos = “best”). An aristeia can result in the death of the hero at the aristeia’s end.”

Corvus Belli’s latest trailer says “MEET THE CHARACTERS June 28th”  Corvus Belli tells BoLS there will be 8 characters on display next week. Can you count them all in the teaser?

It looks like Corvus Belli has a team-based hexboard boardgame set in the Human Sphere.  This looks like an all new fast paced casual way to enter the Infinity universe. The teaser video shows off a hexboard, and a montage of characters. According to Corvus Belli, this is a two player team boardgame set in the universe of Infinity.

The game board perhaps?

Corvus Belli says:

What is Aristeia!?

Aristeia! is the new board game from Corvus Belli, an Infinity spin-off in which two players become the managers of two competition teams for the greatest show in the Human Sphere. Players will face each other in the arena, and will have to plan their actions carefully to win.

Is this Game Independent from Infinity?

Yes, absolutely independent. Aristeia! is a board game, not a miniature wargame, and has been designed from scratch as a parallel product. The action happens in the Infinity universe and the game shares some characters and introduces new ones to this Science Fiction setting.

Which is the Release Date?

The expected release date is late 2017. Those who come and visit us at Gen Con, Essen or the Interplanetary will have the opportunity to try the game in our demonstration tables.

How Can I Know More?

We’ll reveal soon more information about Aristeia! in our website and social network accounts. To be up to date you can visit our official website:

Gah! I want more info! The name refers to a convention of Greek epic poetry, where the hero has a “moment of excellence”, and opens an Olympian sized can of whup-ass, big style.

Basically it’s American Gladiators meets the Running man in a cyberpunk space opera…

      In space.

They even tried to ‘clone’ Miyamoto Musashi to drum up ratings from the Japanese. But he kept killing all of his opponents quickly and efficiently instead of working the crowd.

As for the game though…My guess is we’ll see variations of things you’d find in a modern day FPS. Again, continuing the American Gladiators meets future blood sports theme.

We’ll also see more figures like Musashi who are either Lhosts designed to act like the real thing or Athletes who’ve adopted a persona. That gunslinger guy for example is likely going to be Wild Bill Hickock.

I want a dog warrior sponsored by the most important relic of ‘Murica that U.S.Ariadna has retained even as the rest of humanity lost it for all time.

Just imagine the model they could do with that kind of stuff.

      Maybe Koke-Kola due to trademark?

      • georgelabour

Well it keeps being mentioned in the books for both the game and RPG. So here’s hoping they can work out some kind of arrangement.

        • UnpluggedBeta

Well then, best outcome is that they continue to use it and mr gigantic faceless corporation never notices

I love the art style in their fluff; I wonder if the game will express the feeling invoked in it.
