Geekery: The Battles Rages in ‘The Dark Tower’
Sony has released a trio of new TV spots that focus on Roland and The Man in Black.
The story drops us into the world of The Dark Tower via Jake Chambers – a kid that resides in our world that realizes that the stories of the gunslingers are real, and a massive battle against evil is about to take place. He meets Roland and the two set out to protect the tower from the Man in Black.

The movie takes from the novels and makes something new of them. It’s not a direct translation. I’ll admit I’ve not read beyond the first book, so my opinion on this isn’t going to match those who have read (and re-read) the full series. The story and dynamic between Elba and McConaughey looks compelling. I like the cast a lot, and I’ve enjoyed director Nikolaj Arcel previous work. I’m going to make it to the theater for this one.
