Take a look at the new Chapter specific Relics from the new book. The first founding chapters get the goodies.

Strategems Basics

The Space Marine codex has 15 new strategems. In addition to the chapter specific ones below you get 8 generic ones that include some the old ones form the previous codex (with new rules) and the following chapter specific ones for the 1st founding Chapters.

The Chapter Relics

Ultramarines

SANCTIC HALO: Ultramarines Captain Only: The bearer of the Sanctic Halo has a 3+ invulnerable save and can attempt to deny one psychic power in each enemy Psychic phase in the same manner as a Psyker.

White Scars

MANTLE OF THE STORMSEER: White Scars Psyker Only: The wearer of the Mantle of the Stormseer adds 1 to their Psychic test when attempting to manifest the Smite power.

Black Templars

CRUSADER’S HELM: Black Templars Model Only: The Wearer of the Crusader’s Helm increases the range of any aura abilities on it’s datasheet (such as Rites of Battle, Litanies of Hate, etc.) by 3″

Imperial Fists

SPARTEAN: Imperial Fist model with a bolt pistol only. The Spartean replaces the bearer’s bolt pistol and has the following profile:

Spartean Range:12″ Pistol2 S4 AP-1 D2; This weapon can target Characters even if they are not the closest model to the bearer.

Iron Hands

AXE OF MEDUSA: Iron Hands model with a power axe only. The Axe of Medusa replaces the bearer’s power axe and has the following profile:

Axe of Medusa Melee Melee S+2 AP-3 D2; This weapon can target Characters even if they are not the closest model to the bearer.

Salamanders

SALAMANDER’S MANTLE: Salamanders model only. The wearer of the Salamander’s Mantle increaser their Toughness characteristic by 1.

Raven Guard

RAVEN’S FURY: Raven Guard jump pack model only. The bearer of the Raven’s Fury canAdvance and charge in the same turn. Furthermore, the bearer can re-roll failed charge rolls.

 

Space Marines Codex Week



Space Marine Week Part 1: Against the Traitors! + Codex Q&A  (watch the game)

All this week we will be putting codex Space Marines through it’s paces. We have a fully painted Ultramarines Primaris army with some new toys. We will be testing it out all week against a variety of different army types and of course taking your codex questions the whole time. Once the battle is over, sit down with us for a Codex Space Marines talk show. Game one was an Ultramarines Primaris army facing down the Exorcists Chapter (counts as Raven Guard).
