Those dice are looking pretty good…

  • Kritarion

    So wait…

The faction-specific dice only have different colours, not specific symbols?
    What?

    • Luca Lacchini

There are no faction specific symbols in the game.

      • Kritarion

That clearly is Stormcast Weaponry on the dice. What I thought was we would get the faction aquivalent of those symbols

        • ZeeLobby

          But everyone likes Stormcast!

        • Luca Lacchini

Those are indeed Stormcast Weaponry inspired symbols, but they’re not faction-exclusive nonetheless.
Rather, they’re used to for a type of attack (or to be more precise for a probability of success on the die).
For example, Garrek and and at least another Bloodreaver use the same symbol for their attack.

Putting faction-specific symbols on the dice would in the worst case invalidate, or at the very least, make a mess of many cards, both for characters and stratagems/abilities

    • I_am_Alpharius

What @lucalacchini:disqus say. The symbols on the dice are linked to the game play for attacking and defending, so can’t change.

  • Ghachii

Long live Wonkhammer Fantasteve and the Bold Curd!!!

    • Rainthezangoose

      This made me smile 🙂

    • ZeeLobby

Ah. Old world. Took me a sec to realize what Bold Curd stood for. XD.

  • I_am_Alpharius

Wow £17.50! Was expecting them to be a tad dearer than that; more like £20-25. Nice

    • D. B.

Now let’s hope they do a Free Peoples/Witch Hunters warband, in which case I am sold on this.

  • Rainthezangoose

The Gundabad Orc bundle is tempting, and the white dwarf says there will be an update to battle companies which should be interesting for SBG fans.

    • I_am_Alpharius

I’d would hazard that could be preview of the Battle Companies supplement FW has been putting the finishing touches on. Last time it was talked about on WH-Tv twitch Adam Troke said they may have it ready for the end of the year; and if not then, then certain early in 2018.

      • Rainthezangoose

Even better my friend, it need to be a solid release to compleat with current popular home brew battle companies systems

        • I_am_Alpharius

It going to building of the rules that GW have published via the White Dwarf on a couple of occasions; but with tweaks to make it more balance and flexible for gamers to utilise. There will be update Companies for every race in the game across LotR and Hobbit – I want to say something around 30 of them, but I could be wrong on that number.

  • ZeeLobby

Probably should have waited a bit. The rumors and release of Necromunda basically killed interest in Shadespire locally. Add to that the release of CoI and upcoming release of Aristea and it’s going to be a competitive time period. While I’d never want them to delay Necromunda, I’d def take it over Shadespire personally.

    • Luca Lacchini

Agreed, even if I’m on the other side of the barricade. I’ll eventually buy Necromunda, non doubt about it, but I’m currently quite involved with Shadespire (and WH40K, AoS, Frostgrave, Bolt Action, and a few others), so it feels that the GW calendar is a bit too crammed to fit everything in.

      • ZeeLobby

Yeah. I mean I guess it’s because specialist games and core GW don’t necessarily run off the same calendar, but even a month gap might have helped.

        • Red_Five_Standing_By

I think GW just wants to get everything out the door before Christmas.

  • Rafał Pytlak

Wait… the LOTR/Hobbit game is still alive?

    • Sort of. It’s hard to be alive when the films have finished.

      • Rafał Pytlak

Well The One Ring rpg is doing well despite having no movies to rely on. I’m just suprised because this unit is the firsti saw in a year and a half. Really thought they sold the franchise

  • I am not paying $65 for twelve orcs.

  • Jordan Thomas

I know you are joking, but don’t. the loss of the Old World still plagues me greatly…
