Fantasy Flight Games has a new preview for the Wave XII Ship that’s going to bring the “Bullseye” to the table!

Wave XII ships are going to heading to X-Wing Tabletops all very soon. For now, FFG is showing off more of the details of the new Kimogila Fighter. This is one ship that you will NOT want to fly head-to-head against in a jousting match!

“For now, we turn our attention to the Scum faction’s M12-L Kimogila fighter—the heavy, straight-forward fighter that introduces the bullseye firing arc to X-Wing.”

While the M12-L Kimogila fighter’s pilots would often find themselves outclassed in speed and maneuverability, they typically overlooked these concerns, favoring instead the Kimogila’s potential for wanton destruction.

In X-Wing, all this wanton destruction tracks back to the ship’s signature bullseye firing arc . A narrow firing arc within the ship’s larger firing arc, the bullseye firing arc aims from between the guide pegs on the ship’s base and extends to Range “3.”

This new Bullseye arc is going to be difficult for players to pull off – however, if they can manage to get their shot lined up, their targets are going to be in a world of hurt. Any ship that is located inside the special arc cannot spend focus or evade tokens to modify their defense dice! That’s a BIG deal. And it’s just the basic ship ability – the more advanced pilots will be able to take those shots to the next level.

The Pilots

The basic ship – a Cartel Brute – doesn’t have any fancy ability. But the ship itself is pretty tough with 6 hull and 2 shields. It’s still got that 3 dice primary and while it only has 1 agility, it does have a solid action bar with a focus, target lock, and barrel roll as well as the new reload action.

As far as upgrades, the ship comes with some decent firepower options: Torpedoes, Missiles, Salvaged Astromech, and an Illicit slot. If this ship gets lined-up correctly, it could really do some damage. Note that the wording on the Bullseye arc is not limited to Primary attacks…

Dalan Oberos adds an EPT slot to the upgrade bar and has the unique pilot ability of getting a free target lock on an enemy ship inside your firing arc at Range 1-3. That triggers at the start of the Combat phase – which means you can spend your action lining-up a shot with a barrel roll. That free target lock could allow you to fire off a devastating volley of Torpedoes or Missiles depending on your load-out.

Torani Kulda is another Ace Pilot for the M12-L Kimogila Fighter. She’s also rocking an EPT slot and clocks in at PS 8. Torani’s ability also causes your opponents to make a tough call: take 1 damage or remove all focus and evade tokens if you’re in her bullseye arc. If you can manage to get lots of targets in that arc it’s only going to compound her abilities output. This really rewards precision flying.

The Upgrades

Fantasy Flight Games showed off two more upgrades with this set as well:

Contraband Cybernetics allows you to ignore stress for a turn at the cost of receiving an additional stress. Theoretically, this could be useful for use on a pivotal turn when you really need to get an action or red maneuver off. The trade off is that you’re going to have that stress token for an additional round. Will it be worth the penalty? Only if you use it wisely!

Enforcer is the unique title for the M12-L Kimogila Fighter. It punishes attackers for targeting you in you have them in your bullseye arc by giving them 1 stress. This ship is going to be brutal to joust against when it’s got this title!

The M12-L Kimogila Fighter looks like a fine addition to X-Wing for the Scum & Villainy faction. It’s going to be a brutal jouster and has the HPs to trade some shots. It’s going to reward precision flying and punish ships caught in it’s new bullseye arc. Are you ready to give it a go on the tabletop?

M12-L Kimogila Fighter Expansion Pack $19.95

Produced by MandalMotors and flown by enforcers of the Hutt kajidics and other criminal cartels, the M12-L Kimogila fighter was dreaded by spacers across the Outer Rim for its ordnance capacity and the withering torrents of coordinated fire it could unleash. The M12-L Kimogila Expansion Pack brings this heavy fighter to life in X-Wing™ as a blunt instrument that trades maneuverability for raw destructive power. Its pre-painted miniature starfighter comes with four ship upgrades and ten upgrades, many of which reward you for catching your foes in the ship’s new bullseye firing arc.

Line up the shot…BULLSEYE!
