~What are you most excited about!?

  • Rasheed Jones

I dont really like splitting DE into 3 books, wish i could afford to start a new army of DE still though.

    • stinkoman

i think the three books are DE, TE and Necrons. cabals and covens are probably sub factions within the DE book.

    • It’s one book that covers the three sub factions. Information was coming to us really fast, so the wording wasn’t the best. It’s been clarified in the post.

      • Rasheed Jones

Oh I see, it was just the wording. That’s good to hear. I see that its been clarified above. I guess that’s the cost of coming to articles early.

    • Danny Roy

They will get their own book once they get new models. It’s the new release style of GW. Have no fear.

    • Maitre Lord Ironfist

      My Guess is:
Start Collecting and Gangs of Commeragh – If you love Bikes. You get a decent startup for 110 Euros 😛

    • Jared van Kell

It is one book with special chapter tactic style rules for using armies themed around different kabals, wych cults and homunculi covens.

      • Rasheed Jones

Yeah know that now, the original article had it worded differently so it looked like they were saying it split 3 ways.

  • Sooo…Nothing about the Daughters of Khaine and the Shadow Queen? They have been hyping them up recently…

    • briandavion

so a “lawful evil” army? fun

    • James Regan

knights excelsior would probably also be up for that title. just because you like hammers and gold paint doesn’t make cold blooded murder any less evil

      • Brian White

Hammer for the hammer god, Death for all the right reasons

        • euansmith

“Look, guys, I know I said “By any means necessary”, but you know that’s not what I meant.”

“But Lord Sigmar, rules as written state…”

“Just play rules as intended from now on, okay?”

“But, to have left them alive, would have created issues down the line…”

          “They were babies!”

“They would have grown up. And, they’re worth 1/4xp each. That soon adds up.”

“This isn’t AD&D, you knobhead! If you want to gain experience, play Paths of Glory and WIN SOME BATTLES!

“But, Lord, we were conquering the Forgotten Realms in your name.”

“Gah! How many times do I have to tell you; Balder’s Gate IS NOT A REALM GATE!!?

          “But… They… they were Kobolds…”

    • LankTank

God they look good as well. Thinking about some Escher conversions

  • Apocryphus

New Cryptek model is very welcome, my old Failcast ones are tragically warped, even after using a heat gun to fix them.

    • j e s s !

I’ve seen a handful of mentions over time from people saying they contacted GW customer support about failcast minis that warped over time & got replacements sent out – might be worth a shot.

      • Apocryphus

I didn’t know about that, that’s actually pretty awesome. I can wait for the new minis though, I’ll happily buy resculpts if they’re awesome.

    • AEZ

You mean.. especially after using the heat gun?

      • Apocryphus

I only melted one base, shush

  • ohhpoong

lol why would they do that to dark eldar?

    • Kefka

      what do you mean?

      • ohhpoong

earlier they wrote the post as if DE will be released in 3 different codices. Theyve changed it now

  • majbjörn

    Necrons is spelled necrons***

  • Captain_Chronos

Also thxs for the awesome updates BoLS!!

    • Many bothans died to bring this info to us…

      • Tshiva keln

Just like Star Wars died to bring us the atrocity of the last film?

        • Erich Schoenholtz

          BWAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!! It’s funny because it’s true…

        • AEZ

I liked the last one.. wasn’t such a fan of VII though

          • Tshiva keln

You liked the last one! Down vote! Down vote! 😉

      • Many Bothans are being denied any sort of presence in the new canon by Disney/the Story Group. They may as well have been squatted =/

  • NeinNeinNein

No Asdrubal Vect again, way to go lazy GW.

    • Rasheed Jones

I…wouldn’t be surprised if he’s killed off considering what’s going on in Commoragh. At least their age of sigmar counterparts are getting some love (no consolation, IDC about AOS.)

      • NeinNeinNein

Thing is, DE are pretty much the only faction without a significant character / LoW. Not to mention how underwhelming the current 3 are, Lelith being actually worse than a standard Succubus and Urien not too far off.

        • Dalinair

Crap characters and no psyker as such no psychic protection. Yeah DE need some love for sure.

          • ZeeLobby

They really should have some strong anti-psyker capabilities. Always thought this about Tau as well, maybe not the Tau themselves, but at least allies that do.

          • euansmith

I don’t know what the DE do have, but I would certainly expect them to field something like “Psychotronic Nullificators” made from finely sliced cetacean brains. With an effect like making any Psyker within 12″ Perils on any double or something like that. So not something that just blocks Psychic Powers, but actively punishes the user.

It could even be an effect generated by Power Through Pain. Maybe every unit destroyed increase the Peril’s Threshold. As the amplified screams of tortured souls grow in to a psychic tsunami.

        • LankTank

Never know, her rules might be as hot as she is

      • AEZ

What does intraductal carcinoma have to do with AoS?

    • eMtoN

This saddens me to no end.

    • Spacefrisian

Most likely the no model for character excuse, meanwhil they made the bibelybabyli bile piper…

  • Kargrieg
  • ShasOFish

Looks like auxiliaries are a thing of the past for Tau. Shame that they are killing off everything that made them unique.

    • Looks more like we’ll be in for a Tau Auxilia Codex down the line, with expanded Kroot and other Xenos of the Empire.

      • ZeeLobby

I mean I’d hope so, but only imperials ever seem to get expanded. Xenos always seem to get consolidated.

        • I don’t see that happening for Tau. Heck, we got Genestealer Cults, and Tau are hardly a faction that didn’t get supplements. Farsight Enclaves say hello.
Would be surprising if they didn’t get Auxilia when the story moves back to the Damocles Gulf post-GS.

This is the edition where we can expect more new Codex releases than ever before, especially with GW saying the Codex updates will be wrapped up within the year.

          • ZeeLobby

Genestealer Cults hit GW’s love of the nostalgia button hard though. I really don’t see anything like that for Tau sadly. In the end it’ll come down to money, and based off of how GW has treated Tau since their inception (more big stompy anime robots, less other races), I don’t see them suddenly 180ing that direction.

          • That sounds like even more reason for them to ease off on Auxilia in the main Tau Codex and instead shift them to a different Codex where they can also include some previous ForgeWorld kits with plastic releases down the line. Make them self-sufficient while making them part of the Empire.

Kroot and co lost image-wise against the mecha aesthetic, but have them on their own with Vespid, Demiurg and Gue’vesa and maybe a few core Tau units to reinforce that these are assimilated into the Greater Good?

Seems like something a lot of people would appreciate, and it meshes with the cross-Codex army compositions. It’d add another Xenos Codex to the mix while playing along with one of the current ones, so there’s two demographics at the minimum: Tau players wanting to add specialists/flavor and people who just like weird birdy aliens and insect bros on their own.

          • LankTank

Probably because 95% of Tau sales have always been stompy anime robots. Hence why they focus on the stompy robots.

          • Frank O’Donnell

            31/12/2018 new Sisters of battle codex, 1/1/2019 9th ed 40K rulebook 🙂

    • I take this more as a hopeful sign of a Kroot or Mercenaries “Dogs of War” style codex may be in the cards.

      Fingers crossed!

    • zeno666

Like everything else in this edition, there will be some stradegems that makes them feel a bit more unique.
But when you don’t have any command points left, its back to boring game again…

      • Drpx

You just need enough for turn one.

        • zeno666

          True 😉
Give it a year and all imperial will be able to deep strike the Emperor in base to base contact with the enemy..

    • marxlives

Makes me said too, really made them stand out in the grim dark.

    • AEZ

Kinda BS.. even without the other guys the T’au are pretty unique.

    • Across the planet the dozen Vespid owners weep in silence.

  • Pete McGwire

SO they need to nerf the one good Tau unit? WTF.

    • Lexikon

I’m really hoping “address” means something other than nerf. Although so far in 8th it hasn’t.

      • I just want rules for the major Septs.

    • All they said is they will change spamming them and not the individual commander unit. Plus I doubt the release be be just that one change and then a reprinted index.

      • Lexikon

I mean, I can think of at least five ways to do that off the top of my head. Hoping they choose one, or something else I haven’t thought of.

I really like Tau Commanders. My favorite model and unit since I started collecting Tau in 2001.

    • Munn

Wow, that is some epic gun jumping there pal

      • LankTank

Haha was thinking exactly the same thing. Bloody Clint Eastwood with how fast he is >.<

    • briandavion

the obvious answer to address it is to make taking normal suits a better option

      • Dalinair

Agreed, I’d give them BS3 for a start, then a healthy points reduction and people might start taking them again.

    • LankTank

Have you not been paying attention to every codex released so far? All of them address something and cram it to the brink of awesome tactics, combos, units, etc.

      • Spacefrisian

Nope gw doesnt give Slaanesh stuf that treatment, everything gets changed except those entries. They even dropped entries while there are models for it. Even recently re released ones.

        • LankTank

Obviously you have not read the Daemon book so have no credibility. if you did you would see that Slaanesh is NASTY and also got some of the best Warlord traits and definitely the best relic in the codex.

They also had the foresight to change seekers rules to re-roll charges considering they get their advance and charge roll from the Locus.

  • nefu

Codexes all done by year out is code for: if you aren’t updated this year you don’t count as a real team anymore, Adeptus Sororitas to be updated sometime in 2020 maybe.

    • Mike Forrey

Uh from the wording it would seem all codex by June or July now. After that they would probably release a Faction if it was highly specialized i would think.

      • briandavion

my guess is we’ll see a few later codices later then summer but mostly minor factions for example I’m not holding my breath for death watch by june.

        • el_tigre

I think death watch is a fairly easy one, reprint a bunch of marine datasheets and the rules for special issue ammo, boom, 90% done.

          • zeno666

And a re-work of the whole grey knight codex to make them feel close to as elite as custodes.
Oh no I forgot, old models, GW is too lazy to actually try to sell those again.
Everyone should just buy the new stuff all the time! 😉

    • My question exactly.

Does this mean a year from now?
Does this mean a year from 8th release?

If they keep up the current pace – I would assume it means by June of this year.

    • LankTank

ooooh that is a good point actually =s

  • Kyle Stetson

Is that a light knight? Tight!

    • Kabal1te

There is no scale to reference how big it is, it could be a dreadnought sized thing, it could be bigger than the current plastic knight kit. From the video I can’t tell.

      • briandavion

according to what they’ve told us though it is smaller. my guess is they’ll be a smaller cheaper option to allow IK players to pad out lists with some “light lower point support” still I suspect they’ll not be much smaller

      • Brian Griffith

Well there’s some scale to reference. It’s got an access hatch like the other knights do.

      • Also wondering if that is a Knight or Ad-mech unit?

        It’s probably both.

        • sonny2dap .

Yep it’ll be for both. as for size I’d take a guess it’s somewhere between just short of full knight and the dreadknight for grey knights, night night.

      • orionburn III

Tried to do some comparisons in components but doesn’t mean much if they did some things different. Still, I’d imagine it about like this or a bit smaller.

        • euansmith

That image of the new Ad-Mech Knight looks so much like a page lifted from the Inner Sphere to me; TRO: 41,000?

          • orionburn III

I’d die a thousand deaths if we could get Timber Wolf and Warhammer ported over to 40k.

          • Lexikon

            That or Codex: House Kurita.

          • euansmith

Gosh darn it to heck. I’ve been cleaning up the house and just found a copy of Mechcommander Gold; but it won’t run on my OS. I’ll have to find a Windows 95/98 emulator to enjoy some turn-based, isometric Battletech fun. Maybe it will tide me over until the release of Hairbrained Schemes’ Battletech game.

      • Dalinair

Definitely needs a banana in the shot

    • It looks like its based on the old Subjugator mini from Epic. My memory is a bit patchy concerning its size but I seem to remember it was around Knight size…maybe slightly bigger…

      • This sounds like it’s maybe @ 75% the size of a full knight, A beefed up Dreadknight sized kit probably.

I’m just as excited about the advancement of the background for the Knight Households and their societies.

      • Drpx

Bet they’ll be undercosted in points and people will take
        nothing but them.

    • carlisimo

      Quite right!

    • LankTank

the might of the tight light knight, no respite in its fight for the right to reach new heights to spread the emperors light

      • Well done – amiright?

  • Jacky

Is that a light knight? Tight!

  • edendil

I’m most excited about Adeptus Titanicus.

So where the hell is it? I’ve been waiting for 2 years now.

    • Mike Forrey

One of the big things i am waiting for as well. I seriously want to see this.

    • orionburn III

Hopefully they give an update at Adepticon. While I’m anxious for it to get released as well I’m kinda glad they put the brakes on and went back to redo some things. In the long run it’s going to do much more for the game to have plastic models vs FW resin.

      • edendil

Its just that i’ve been hanging out for it for so long. Its been so long since the first rumours…

    • ZeeLobby

Yeah. I dunno. I almost feel like it’s dead at this point. I mean they seemed like they were close to release time a year ago. My only wish/dream is that they’re turning it into full-fledged epic 40K.

      • orionburn III

It’s not dead. After GW realized they really underestimated the potential of specialist games like Blood Bowl and Shadow Wars they pulled back on AT. Instead of leaving all (or 90% of the models) in FW’s hands and limiting the market potential they opted to do models in plastic. Resin behaves differently than plastic so it wasn’t a simple matter of porting over some CAD drawing. Not only that you now have to make the molds, figure out when/where to work them into a production stream that still hasn’t caught up on demand, and redesign your packaging.

Long story short it’s going to be best for the game. I would have still gotten into the game if FW would have handled the models, but being able to get a good starter set in plastic is going to open up the market ten fold.

        • ZeeLobby

shoot. where’d you learn this?! Super happy if true, haha.

          • orionburn III

Was an article a ways back after one of the open days. The game was ready for release and then they saw how many people were freaking out for it, and those that were super mad if there weren’t going to be plastic models to start. I think GW did the right thing by delaying it and doing it proper. If they would have went ahead and rolled it out it wouldn’t have been received well. Even if they did plastic down the road it wouldn’t capture the excitement.

          • ZeeLobby

Awesome! Good to know. When I was a kid, watching people play Epic was one of my first introductions to tabletop gaming. Am just anxious for it to finally be released.

          • orionburn III

I’m seriously hoping they have some official updates at Adepticon. Mainly because I’ll be there this year and want to get my grubby little fingers on something…lol.

Personally I hope they follow the Blood Bowl route. Give enough plastic stuff to get a good start into the hobby, then let FW handle more one-off/unique models and/or weapons.

          • ZeeLobby

Yeah, I’d be happy with that. Would at least give me a chance of getting my group involved.

      • LankTank

3 years ago they were close to releasing the Great Unclean One. Some things are worth a good wait. My wallet NEEDS the time!

      • edendil

Oh yeah, that would be my dream come true also.

But its more realistic just to hope for Titanicus.

        • frank

…or they can do it like necromunda and make you wait to have even three lines of miniatures with rules that you can use to play it haha.

  • Astorius Blake

There goes the Summer campaign for Age of Sigmar. With no other support for Death than the battletome, and Order getting yet another faction, well, this is going to be one-sided bullcrap like the first one.

The Knight looks good and will definitely make it into my admech allies.

    • That isn’t true…Chaos has gotten new support…and Death will be getting that new Battletome

      • Astorius Blake

Chaos had just gotten Khorne back then, didn’t prevent them from being smashed into the ground during the first campaign tho. And Chaos may have gotten new stuff now, but Order always keeps getting more and more. Destruction and Death got nothing. And Death has literally half the number of kits Destruction has. Destruction itself has half of Chaos’ kits, and chaos is fifty and some kits down under Order’s, with a much lesser variety of factions. So yeah, one sided bullcrap.

        • Legions of Nagash may change that and we did recently get the Maggotkin so yes, Order and Chaos may have more armies and battletomes but that isn’t really a deciding factor…It can change.

          • Astorius Blake

It is a deciding factor when the campaign is based on victories. More factions means more players, more players means more victories. And Legions will change nothing to the number of death players, given it’s mainly, from what i read, placebo for it being “the worst”. It’s only, at best, going to keep the playerbase intact. But unless Death gets new miniatures, nothing good is going to come for us. Miniatures are what brings people to buy stuff, and so far well, Order got over 70 of them in the last two years, chaos got some thirty, destruction got less than 10 and Death got… A whopping -20 kits, since they squatted tomb kings.

        • I’m still sore about the fate of the Tomb Kings Range.

The loss of the Necrosphinx hurts.

If they could ret-con Flesh-eater courts out of a handful of ghoul and vampire kits, I think something – anything could have been cobbled together from the best handful of the TK range.

          • James Regan

I’m hoping they, in time, actually replace tomb kings with something- lore wise, their non-existence in AoS makes sense given they were squatted in the very first end times book, but they really need replacing in order to give death more unique models- flesh eater courts are interesting, but death seem to be stuck as ‘just sort of vampires and skeletons, innit’, far too generic for the rest of the setting. I mean, the ‘wood elves’ got turned into viscous tree monsters, empire was replaced by hammer wielding gold zombie-space marines, chaos got, if anything, even weirder, but death’s just been plain old vampire counts with old models so far.

          • euansmith

Like, a “Necrosphinx Pride”; consisting of Necrosphinxes, lots of Necrosphinxes. They are such a cool kit.

          • LankTank

I remember having to paint one up when I worked at GW at the release of the Necrosphinx. So much fun to paint the sort of jade marble body =)

          • euansmith

It seems odd to me that GW Squatted the TKs; unless there was an issue with the moulds or something. After all, the TK seemed to be actually quite an original bit of IP for GW. Plus the rank and file look to be a good starter army for new painters (bones can be quick and simple to paint), and they already had got an epic centrepiece mini in production.

    • Karru

Yeah, honestly it really isn’t that interesting to see them pull these campaigns when you know who the winner is going to be and it is not even going to be close one. Order is going to steamroll through everyone else like they did last time due to the high number of factions, and as such higher number of players to play compared to the other ones. Not to mention the support they are getting compared to the other factions.

Chaos might make a bigger dent this time, but Order will win it by default.

    • James Regan

I just though-wouldn’t a good way to balance it is record scores based on losses rather than victories? if two opposing alliances fight, it’s supposed to be about 50-50 on win chance, so order fights more and wins more, but they also lose more as well. Hence if you factor in the losses, their numbers count for nothing, only the skill of their players, which can tip that 50-50 counter one way or the other. Same for death- they have only two battletomes, both drawn from the same fantasy army, so they can’t win as many matches due to lack of players, but they can’t lose as many either.

    • ZeeLobby

Just think though, you could buy sigmarines and win!

    • Which is why I write my own campaigns.

  • plasticvicar

Having the Tau Codex concentrating on just Tau makes it even more likely we’ll be getting a full Tau Auxilliaries codex later on. I need those Guevesa dammit!

    • Nilok

I hope so, I want me some Demiurg.

  • I like the look of the ad-mech knight, it reminds me of the old Subjugator from EPIC.

I have been waiting for Aelves but was never really a fan of Witch Elves. I’m not really sure what to think about these so far.

  • dakota5X5

looks like it’s going to be an expensive year. don’t play AOS but damn those witch elves look good

  • Rainthezangoose

10:28 – 40K – No Asdrubael Vect for Dark Eldar

    • Munn

If I remember correctly, GW doesn’t have the rights to make a model of Vect due to some shenanigans with a sculpter a long time ago.

      • Dalinair

Really disappointed, I was hoping for vect as a lord of war on some gigantic pirate ship

        • euansmith

Maybe they will create a new evil elf called, I dunno, something like, “Aeiousdrubael Vaeiouct”?

      • Commissar Molotov

Ah – that would explain it.

      • Easily remedied by GW’s renaming scheme.

        Eldar ==> Aeldari
        Asdrubael Vect ==> Aasdrubeal Vecti

Clearly his full formal name in high Aeldari, not his guttername used by the Mon-keigh.

      • Red_Five_Standing_By

GW had to pay royalties to the sculptor years and years the model came out. The bean counters saw that and scoffed. Which is why they removed the model.

    • Havik110

Where is the link for this?

    • Erich Schoenholtz

Yup. Dumb. They better boost the power level of the remaining special characters OR bring back the Baron, etc. with new models. Right now, the Dark Eldar have nothing of note for LoW or special characters.

  • ieyke

The new Cryptek is phenomenal, but he had better be just the first of a whole AVALANCHE of new Necron models/units.
    Necrons better be amazing again.

Codex:Fishmen (conceptually, not with that name) is absolutely a thing that needs to happen.
I actually regularly remark on how bizarre it is that there ISN’T a fishman/squidman/crabman army with a high-tech version of a BioShock theme. Tridents, harpoons, net weapons, Big Daddy-esque diving suits, fish/shark/eel/squid/octopus/crab shaped warmachines flying and scuttling around the battlefield,
Dead seriously, Codex:Fishmen is one of the best 40k ideas.
A genuinely aquatic race with a strong nautical theme that has taken to the stars is like THE big missing theme in 40k.
And no, Tau are not fishmen.

Dark Eldar not including Asdrubael Vect is idiotic. He SHOULD be getting a big, new, crazy, super menacing reinterpretation of the Dais Of Destruction that makes him the centerpiece of the whole army.
Like 3x the size of a Ravager, so a Dark Eldar army’s vehicles look like Jabba’s barge surrounded by all those little hoverboats.
Any good Dark Eldar army should look like a fleet of pirate ships, and not all of the ships should be the same size, so we need some bigger ones.

If the new Furies aren’t literally just plastic versions of the current Furies, this is stupid.
The current Furies are literally STILL some of the best daemon models GW has ever made.

    • Uh…So not a fan of the Daughters of Khaine and why not Fishmen in AoS? Water needs some love xD

    • Munn

Necrons get 1 character. It’s more than other armies get. And the furies in DoK are aelves, not demons. And are hilariously superior models besides.

    • Kabal1te

I had assumed reading through that codex fishmen was a reference to the tau

    • Mike Holmberg

Honestly out side of creating a new unit the only thing I can think of model wise that needs an update are the characters and flayed ones.
The rules are lackluster but model wise necrons are sitting pretty good being almost all plastic outside of flayed ones and some named characters. Granted the named characters really could goto plastic as those resin staffs are just awful for breaking but eh.

      • Agreed Mike, Necrons are in a good spot regarding their plastic range. GW I’m sure will slowly replace all the named characters over the years with Triumvirate boxed tied to narrative campaigns.

That said some kits need tweaks. Just as they had to reengineer Tau Crisis Suits to improve the “insta-snap-off ankles”, the Wraiths break if you look at them wrong, and the Ghost Ark is constantly shedding gauss flayers, like a snake shedding its skin.

      • ieyke

Right. That’s why no one said anything about redoing models.

    • LankTank

Oh man… i mean each to their own but I think the current Furies are a train wreck. Look like the monkeys from Wizard of Oz!

  • D. B.

I really like the name, “armiger” meaning “arms-bearer” or “squire”. A very fitting addition to AdMech Knights.

  • I_am_Alpharius

Awesome stuff – codices coming are not a shocker, its more of when not if with the remain books. Glad to hear the reiteration that all Codices will be published within a year – maybe naysayers will be quieted (yeah like that will happen).

    – Cryptek look veeeeery nice.
    – Micro-Knight is cool, and nice way to add some depth to the Knight Codex.
    – No Vect at all in a little surprise, I figured they would give him a new model. Although I guess? Not including him is in line with every codex so far; in that no model no rule in the Codex. Gamers will have to continue to the Index rules.
    – Fyreslayers for Shadespire look subtable epic.
    – Announcement of the same FAQ/Errata structure for AoS is not a surprise, as the response to 40Ks FAQ action has been so positive.
    – The Witch Aelves look amazing! Loving the grecian-esk feel to their aesthetic. Looking forward to seeing more pictures of these kits.

  • sonny2dap .

Hoping that Knight armiger makes a full knights list practical.

  • kaptinscuzgob

after custodes, harlequins and genestealer cults getting a codex, i wouldnt be surprised if kroot got their own one too

  • Shadowstrife

Is it me, or does the Daughters of Khaine release solve just only 1 of the rumor engines?

So that means the rumored cthulhu aelves are still to come?

    • Hagwert

I was thinking that…this seems to be an all female faction yet wasn’t the silver tower dark elf male ?

      • Hrudian

At least two: Pet dragon and snake body (so not Fulgrims)

      • Shadowstrife

Yeah. Something tells me this is like what Fyreslayers are to the Kharadhron. Separate factions within races.

  • Farouk Shaaban

Well looks like cawl has gone and created a new robot. Fabricator general gonna be pissed.

  • Kiskatona

Man those Witch Aelves look wicked sick, my wallet is weeping as we speak. Hope they release point values for AoS skirmish as well.

    • Hagwert

Same here. I can’t afford to start a new large army but a skirmish force of witch elves is going to be a must buy for me!

  • My dark elf army doesn’t have witch elves in it, but I like the look of this sub-faction. This kind of thing is sorely needed. Bring the old model line up into the new game. Its generating a lot of excitement.

  • Rass

I would like to congratulate GW on making new codices for armies that are not marines. My tip of the hat you, GW.

  • CloakingDonkey

holy moly those Aelves are sweet. I was really hoping they’d go all out on the Lamia theme. I’m so glad they did. <3

  • Hagwert

Be still my beating heart , those elf models are stunning…or you could just rip it out of my chest like witch elves normally do !

  • Havik110

So why is it that Smurfs get a freaking primarch, Chaos gets two primarchs but DE gets jack S#!t. We had vect for 15 years, they take them away and say eff you.

  • ZeeLobby

Like the new mini-knight. Lack of death units is sad :(. Campaign will be order-dominated again unless there’s some special rules.

    • There are limits to what you can do with skeletons…

      • ZeeLobby

Haha, clearly there is nowhere to expand the “Undead” in the range… you got me…

  • Talos2

The daughters of khaine look very nice, the Knight looks meh, still no sign of orks.

  • V0iddrgn

Finally, NECRONS! Cool new mini too!

  • becizzle

QA question about Mordheim. No plans for new Mordheim.

    • Commissar Molotov

      So sad. 🙁

  • orionburn III
    • EnTyme

That’s the statue atop the Cauldron of Blood:

      • orionburn III

Ah, thanks. I’m not up to speed on all things AoS so didn’t know if it was something new or not.

        • Well, that one’s been around for about 10 years now, if I’m not mistaken.

          • orionburn III

I’ve been out of Fantasy for a loooooooong time…lol

  • John Cook

No mention of 9th Ed ?

    • Jared van Kell

Did you really expect an answer to that question or is it purely rhetorical? 😛

    • John, play nice 🙂

  • Kabal1te

So shall I go ahead and ask the magic question. What are dark eldar going to loose from their codex this time around? You know they won’t get anything new and they have yet to have a codex released that didn’t have less things in it that the publication before it.

  • Killer Bee

nice stuff, just need a dark eldar archon like the one on the cover of that new codex.

  • Wolf-Assassin

any indication to size of that knight?

    • From the GW Community page…”Smaller than their cousins and crewed by aspiring nobles, low-born commoners with a knack for war, or even the bastard children of Barons and High Kings, Armigers hunt and fight at the flanks of their larger kin. Knight Armigers will open up new tactical possibilities for Imperial Knights players, like a medieval lord hunting with his hounds, benefiting from a wider range of army builds.”

      • Red_Five_Standing_By

        I NEED 5! 10! A HUNDRED!

No, a Hundred is definitely too many, lol

      • Mr.Gold

it also appears to have a meltagun on top of it – which makes me think Primaris dreadnought sized ish…

    • Astorius Blake

its picture in the newsletter shows him with a cognis autocannon, so i’d estimate it as 30 to 35 cm tall.

  • ascalaphe
  • frank

Wait a minute i thought Gw hated xenos armies?… that seemed like it was the consensus a month ago hmmm.

    • Kabal1te

Notice how chaos got an entire line of new Nergal demon models, imperium got an entire new range for a mini faction, and here out of 3 xenos codices one replacement character for something that already exists, a whole single model, and them guess what? the announcement for yet another new imperium model. GW does hate xenos.

      • frank

really though space marines and the imperium are a massive force in terms of miniatures and fluff, more than a million planets strong. Eldar are almost extinct as a race. tau are repetitively small up in comers who have to avoid full out war. Tyranids are a massive life form that is linked by a hive mind. Necrons are just asleep and slowly waking up. Orks well they could have many codexes and no one would complain cuz there is a lot and have relatively unique cultures to themselves. chaos has always had many groups that make up its forces. they didnt get a whole new line either unless you count a few new heroes and re-sculpts as new and then you would still have to acknowledge that all the daemon models have a duel audience that goes for two game systems not just one.
I collect other minis but I have played almost exclusively one of the three factions of eldar for the past 17 years. I started with harlequins because they were the only interesting army to me. if you want to talk when GW hated xenos they said the unofficial codex would be replaced with an official codex shortly or almost five years when

        • Kabal1te

Well seeing as the number of things dark eldar had in their codex before 5 th edition that they have had taken away over the years since, both characters and wargear, is so numerous ones fingers and toes are inadequate for counting it all, I don’t know if I would complain to much.

          • frank

I am not the one complaining just saying could be much worse and having your whole army turned into one unit than loosing some characters.

  • Carey_Mahoney

  • Dioscuri

I LOVE the new Daughters of Khaine models. They might be the thing that convinces me to start playing AoS.

  • Warrior24_7

The DE yeah!! I can’t wait to go Custodes hunting!
