RPG Gamer Challenge: Where Are We?

Put on your thinking caps. Hint: It’s 33 years old.

Enjoy. If you have an awesome wargames shot you think would make a great BoLS pic of the day, email us. We love spectacle and characterful shots so lets see what you budding photographers can do! Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, X-Wing, Warmachine/Hordes, Runewars, Bolt Action, Armada & Flames of War miniatures photos are welcome.

Tharbad city, the bridge over the gwathlo river. Realmente of cardolan. Merp module. Still playing rolemaster using merp modules with Friends!!!

    • I love MERP.

      • Matthew Pomeroy

Massive MERP junky here, but also REALLY REALLY LOVE Cubicle 7’s ONE RING!

      • Borja Saiz Bustamante

I killed a Balrog once during my first roleplaying game ever. Lvl 1 Hobbit Explorer, first battle ever, first combat round, first to seize initiative. I was like “I throw a stone to it to see what happens”.

The DM stared like “E Critic” or something, and a few dice later the Barlrog´s head exploded in a bazilion pieces.

I asked how the hell was that weakling like. In the MERP book there was a 3cm tall “gargoyle” image next to the Balrog entry.

So I said in a sudden “Oh! A little imp of sorts!”

    City of Tharbad! Huzah!!!

    City of Tharbad! Huzah!!!

  • We need to make these harder 😛

    • AEZ

Start with deleting obvious text from the pic.. I don’t know this but I think by googling gwathlo I could’ve found it quite easily.

  • I love it when fantasy worlds have openly known Thieves guilds or thieves quarters.
I mean why would you ever go near something like that?

    • Reven

To pay them to not steal your stuff?

      • Red_Five_Standing_By

It is lucrative for the Thieves Guild and cheap for the Merchants and wealthy people (relative to randomly having your most valuable possessions stolen at random).

    • Azhrarn

Discworld logic, organised crime is much easier to tax than unorganised crime. And like Reven said, you can pay them off.

      • zemlod

Also, as soon as you have orgnised crime, the amount of organising necessary usually gets in the way of doing much actual crime…
