Who’s ready for a little more Death on their tabletop? TOO BAD! The Malign Portents are unstoppable…

  • Hagwert

Hmmm…..surely they aren’t going to miss the chance to bring out some new plastic zombies…are they ?

    • euansmith

I’m really hoping for new zombies or skeletons; or for Warlord to release the Wargames Factory Skeletons they got the molds for when taking over their production. Failing that, some Oathsworn Undead would be really cool.

      • CloakingDonkey

I have some of those Wargames Factory Skellies. The current GW ones are way better than those.

        • euansmith

Are they poor quality plastic? I like the design without any armour and no rags. They look very Jason and the Argonauts.

          • Matthew Pomeroy

they are decent enough, the are smaller than AoS scale, I use alot of those old kits for LOTR.

          • CloakingDonkey

nah the plastic is fine and yes they have a very nicely realistic shape and 50s fantasy vibe but they’re incredibly fragile and you’d be surprised by how few poses you can actually make. And there’s quite a few “crazy” poses so having those 3-4 times in a regiment stands out.

          • euansmith

            Thank you.

        • Jeff Daniels

I agree that the Wargames Factory skeletons are fragile and fiddly to put together, but
I’m going to respectfully disagree that the Games Workshop ones are better, and that the Wargames Factory skeletons are difficult to pose.

The Games Workshop ones are just as fiddly and easy to break, and I found the Wargames Factory skeletons quite poseable.

The Games Workshop models are definitely bigger though (28mm), whereas Wargames Factory models were all (25mm).

This debate might be moot however, Warlord might not even have the molds or the rights as they didn’t buy up all of the Wargames Factory products. Dreamforge also got one or two sets.

Finally, the Wargames Factory skeletons were designed by Ghost Studios, who apparently design models for Wyrd!

        • bobrunnicles

I agree, the WF ones are fiddly beyond belief (separate FEET ffs!). I had a box but quickly sold them on, and the guy I sold them to ended up quickly selling them on too lol.

      • Matthew Pomeroy

army of the dead for lotr can make some good zombies.

        • euansmith

Those are pretty cool. A bit small for AoS; but looking at them reminded me to dig out an unused box of Corsairs of Umbar.

I’d bought them, and then tucked them away when they turned out to be a bit small to join the ranks of the Empire Army.

Comparing them to my North Star Frostgrave minis, however, they look pretty much spot on size-wise. It looks like I’ve got a bunch more crewmen for Ghost Archipelago.

Also the Army of the Dead look like a nice purchase for some Frostgrave monsters.

          Thank you.

          • EnTyme

Our local Death player uses Mantic zombies. I like those.

          • euansmith

            They are pretty cool.

          • Matthew Pomeroy

no worries, I have been tempted on Frostgrave myself.

    • ZeeLobby

      Now would be the time.

    • Kabal1te

      Of course they are

    • Brandon Sharitt

Considering that they have the same old zombies reboxed with round bases up for preorder, probably not.

      • euansmith

        Poot and dang.

  • Junior Mitac

  • DrunkCorgi

    Yeah yeah… where’s Morathi??!!?1!?

    • Rahl

You expected Morathi (new faction book, several new kits) the same week as Malign Portents and the Grand Alliance champions? I know GW releases can be pretty big, but that’s a bit unrealistic.

      • DrunkCorgi

After five years or so of nothing new for Dark Elves, yes I’m impatient.

  • Matthew Pomeroy

where is Marco??? well….ok.. so filling in…long live the old warhammer? got it. taken care of 😀 now off for spaghetti and meatballs…with cheesy toast!!!

    • euansmith

Its not the same without him, is it. 🙁

    • Jeff Daniels

    • Its the weekend. Screaming into the wind every day takes its toll and you need a break now and then. I’m sure by Monday he’ll have posted his scream into the hurricane though.

      • Matthew Pomeroy

HE HAS 1 JOB!!! just one Auticus! 😀

  • euansmith

Please, please, please, please, please, GW, bring out the Witchfate Tor and Dreadstone Blight. I pinky promise to buy them this time around.

    • Matthew Pomeroy

hold on to that pinky, I had the Tor and it did not fit together very well at all, frustratingly bad casting.
