Now out from Kobold Press: the 5th/Pathfinder compatible setting book for their Midgard Campaign.

Kobold Press has been making some excellent campaign books over these last few years. They’ve really got the whole 5th Edition and Pathfinder dual compatibility nailed down as well. Any of their previous books like Eldritch Lairs or Demon Cults and Secret Societies has a lot to offer both players and GMs of either system. If you’re looking for some swords, sorcery, and fantasy roleplaying (especially with a darker bent) Kobold Press has got you covered whichever d20 based system you prefer to use.

So it goes with their campaign book, which is a whole setting that’s inspired by the mythology of Central Europe. There’s Baba Yaga, a Dragon Empire, all kinds of cool stuff. So let’s dive in and check it out.

Midgard Campaign Setting – $49.99

Fantasy roleplaying adventure in a dark world of deep magic, inspired by the myths and folklore of Eastern and Central Europe.

It is an age of war. Civilization slowly gives way to encroaching wilderness, and once-mighty empires now lie beneath the waves. Only magic and the warmth of hope keeps lights aglow when dread things prowl, and priestly wardings are bent by demonic rage.

The omens are dire. The roads to the shadow realm are open again, and the fey have returned to claim their ancient tribute. In the north the giants prepare for Ragnarok, while the goblins in the west grow restless. In the Crossroads, the shadow of the vampire princes falls across the land. The World Serpent is stirring—and not even all-knowing Baba Yaga can say what will happen next.

Note:The Midgard Worldbook is compatible with 5th Edition, and also compatible with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Separate appendixes provide the needed GM-specific material for the game, and the Pantheon chapter addresses casters in each system separately.

Now more than ever, Midgard needs heroes to stand against the dark, driving it back with spell, steel, and cunning!

Good luck heroes!
